Today my doctor called me, or tried to, but I was at the other end of the house and couldn't answer in time.
So he called my husband instead, informed him that I was to go pick up a certain antibiotic that he was just then calling in to our pharmacy, take it all and then see him again, right after.
I'm not used to any doctor being that on the ball. Or maybe, my case is so severe that it's scaring them all, at the medical center.
I'm guessing the sputum culture came back. I tried to call back but the doctor had just left for the day.
Apparently I have some form of pneumonia--not "walking".
I can't remember the name of the antibio but it ends in "mycin".
The pills, unfortunately, are very large, so I'm afraid to try to swallow them. I have had problems with choking, before.
They are in capsule form, not tabs.
So I opened one up and sprinkled it on some food. Fresh grapes.
And oh GAWD. the stuff is unbearably, gaggingly bitter! It's a bitterness that lingers long after the food has been swallowed, and washed down with the requisite 8 oz of water.
From my X-ray, btw, it seems that both the mid and lower lobe of my right lung are infected and drowning. In case anyone is wondering just how bad this is.
The real wonder at the med center seems to be, how I don't seem to have a fever. Actually, I FEEL like I have one, and have felt it for months. But my taken temp remains at 98. I don't even get the .6.
So now I just sprinkled another capsule's worth of the stuff on a salad. Totally ruins the salad, but I'd best choke it down.
We'll see how this all works out.
