A postmodern twist on a familiar phrase

Feb 04, 2006 13:22

Remember the whole concept of "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Perhaps your mom used the phrase on a semi-regular basis to remind you about the "do until others" concept. I never was really able to stand behind that. Instead, I follow the "If you don't have anything snarky to say, then don't say anything at all"

And Damn it, I don't have anything really snarky to say about VM "Wallace and Rashad" go to White Castle,

Molly Fitzpatrick looked like she was old enough to be Felix's mom! What the hell was up with her?

And, am I sick in the head that I dreampt up a confession fic where V is confessing to what she thinks is Father Fitzpatrick, but really it's Logan. Yes, I'm sick in the head. Veronica, I'll be right there with you in hell, burning for all eternity.

I'm glad the pretty was back this episode. After dealing with pre-emptions because of Basketball, and last week's fiasco that was Donut Run (excuse me for wanting the writers to uh, write well? Is that just too much to ask?) I was really, really, happy with this ep. Sure, it might be because there was no donut to clog my arteries and pores with his redundancy as a character, and we got to see Veronica... again, after many, many moons of V being on planet Kane living in delusion land about fairy tale romances and "true love stories" that "never end." Please, god, don't let that be some kind of foreshadowing, because I don't want to see Duncan again, unless he's in a violent rage, or an alien.

So, general things I thought was awesome-tastic:
1. The coffeehouse scene. I liked that trio, and gah, I like Logan. Sue me.
2. Jackie working with Wallace and Veronica-- interesting twist. I liked it, and found myself liking Jackie. Cringe. And then, I was kind of pro Jackie/Wallace, esp. when he got a new "lady friend" and Jackie was knocked off her perch of pretentiousness we'd seen in earlier episodes. THere's something about Jackie that reminds me of Lilly-- I can't pinpoint it, but I revisted it when watching "Wallace & Rashad"
3. Keith's dubiously dubious ways. Wow, Keithy. You've decided to step over to the dark side now that your daughter showed how malicious (and nearly conscious-less) that she can be. It gave me a special thrill when he broke into the vault.
4. Deeping of the bus crash mystery...Terrence Cook and Ms. Dent... could he be the father of her kid? She was kind of a random add in.
5. Pretty cinematography, good editing, nice light-- a return to the feel of VM that I'd been missing, lots.
6. Logan. I mentioned him once, but let me do it again...mmmmmm

Things that were good but not awesome-tastic:
1. Wallace's arc with the hit and run. Kind of ho-hum, I was more concerned with the Fitzpatricks thing.
2. Molly F, for obvious reasons, basically for looking about 100 when she's supposed to be a 17 year old, or whatever.

That's about all, I guess. I watched the promo for next week, the opening scene...ooh la la... looks good.

And, the Office:

I love this show so freaking much, it just keeps getting better and better every week. Dwight's reference to Lost...so hilarious. And Jim/Pam...gah, the angst just about kills me, and I freaking adore it.

I fell out on the floor over Angela's Jan = slut line. So, so, funny.

This show is so good, why does the season have to end in March?

That's all for me. Low on the snark, high on the love. It's kind... uncharacteristic of me.
