Since the news station deemed curling, "one of the two hot sports at the Winter Olympics this year" (the other being Snowboarding), I decided to read up on it.

Curling has only been an Olympic sport since 1998??????
An estimated 94% of curlers live in Canada???????
Curling stones are launched with spin, but friction affects the inside edge causing it to take a curved path ("curl"). The sweeping melts a thin layer of ice, reducing friction and "curl".
