I've been so incredibly lazy these last few days that I haven't even done a happy holiday post, let alone a post to squee about my Yuletide gift

Cool! It seems a lot less typical of the genre than what I'd anticipated.

Yeah, it's not very typical for the genre. I've read another book by the same author and while it didn't capture me as this one did, it was also not very typical for the genre.
