Carl bashed his teeth in at daycare today. They said he was bouncing a toy off the floor and hit himself in the mouth. His two front teeth are nearly completely mushed up into his gums, and the two teeth on either side of those are twisted and bloody. He's pretty disfigured, and he started to lisp. I called the dentist and the pediatrician, and the pediatrician told me to go to the ER to see if he needed them pulled or if they were loose. They did not and were not. Two hours wasted and a missed meeting. So now what? Are Carl's gums permanently damaged? Will he develop a speech impediment? And how could this happen when the daycare teachers were supposed to be watching him? I am pretty damn upset, and I am absolutely furious at the daycare.
