Tonight Pat and I went to the Tigers game (which we won, by the way, 2-0) which was a good time... but earlier today I was a bit concerned about the weather, namely the potential for precipitation and the possibility of violent tempests.
I searched all over ye olde Internette for a definitive statement on the weather, to no avail. So I decided to take some initiative on this. I decided to call Chuck Gaidica to see what his thoughts were at a time like this. So I called the WDIV newsroom...
person: WDIV.
me: Could you connect me with Weather?
person: Please hold.
...
person: WDIV Weather.
me: Hey, is Chuck Gaidica there?
person: Speaking.
*Pause* I had a lot of different preconceived notions about how my quest for a personalized weather report from the one, the only Chuck Gaidica might unfold. That was not one of them. I figured I would get one of his minions, an intern or something. I never expected the man himself to be answering phones. In fact, I was half joking when I asked for Chuck. I figured the peon on the other end would be like, "Haha, he isn't available right now." and then I plannned to ask him or her about the weather forecast for Comerica Park for this evening. *Play*
me: Oh, hey how's it goin?
Chuck: Good, you?
me: Good, thanks. Hey I'm thinking about going to the Tigers game tonight, what's the weather going to be like?
Chuck: Well there's a chance of severe thunderstorms, but they will pass by 8 PM. There might be some rain, but only a chance of a light shower.
Me: Hmmm... That sounds kind of iffy, if you were in my shoes, would you go to the game tonight?
Chuck: Oh, sure! It should end up being a nice night. Plus I like their hot dogs. I would definitely go!
Me: Ok, cool! Thanks Chuck!
Chuck: You're welcome.
Me: Bye.
Chuck: Bye.
I can't believe I actually talked to Chuck Gaidica! I was so giddy afterwards! Seriously, ask my mom! Chuck is really a classy and personable gentleman. I highly recommend his weather broadcast to you. Not only did he offer me a personalized weather forecast, on the spur of the moment, via telephone, but offered me a culinary recommendation for while I was at the stadium as well! What more could you ask for?!:)
(His weather forecast was spot on, by the way. It was a beautiful evening!)
