You guys should have seen my devil-induced frenzie last night.
Yesterday, the Duke Blue Devils won their preseason opener against Concordia College (Canada) by a score of 123-66.
That's not a typo.... 123-66.
I was in the second row off the floor, behind the home basket. It was absolutely intense. I knew that Cameron is small... It looks small on TV, but I'm telling you, this thing is SMALL. I think the Troy High Gym might be comparable in size to it. Apparently, it seats about 9,000 some odd people.... I think that's a stretch. The place is small, the students are just a few feet from the court, and it is totally intense. I CANNOT WAIT til the regular season ACC games... If we were this rowdy for Concordia..... Wow. It's gonna be freakin sweet!
Before the game, we put a hex on our oponents (and also periodically throughout the game) we welcomed them to Cameron in our own special way, then the game began to chants of "U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!" The cheerleaders (who are not the Cheerleaders) usually do research on the opposing players. This time, they turned up the gem that one of them is majoring in Leisure Science. And so every time he went to the free throw line, he was met by almost 4000 Duke students chanting, "LEISURE SCIENCE!!! LEISURE SCIENCE!!!"
At one point, just for kicks, the "Go to hell Carolina" cheer was busted out.
It was so freaking awesome, you guys have no idea!!!
I'm hooked.
