The Woman In Black, 2012
Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake, which I've never heard of)
Seen in Richmond with Jess
Hmm. Well...what it lacks in substance, I suppose it makes up for in style. A very weak and undercooked plot kind of rolls through this middling horror movie. Scary, once things get rolling, to be sure, but quickly slipping into a pattern of "Suddenly quiet, creepy music, then something jumps out at us! Oh noes!" over and over again. Wrapped up with a very unsatisfactory ending and what you've got here is an intensely forgettable horror film.
I will say that I think this film says good things about Daniel Radcliffe's future. He seems to be able to handle himself quite well outside the world of Harry Potter.
Overall: Weak and forgettable. Unless you love Daniel Radcliffe or horror films, skip this one.
