Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha.I'm a little surprised by that)
Well let me start by saying I think Rob Marshall phoned this one in. I don't think Chicago or Geisha were the greatest movies ever, but I think this was a serious step down in quality for this man.
As far as another Pirates movie goes....it's alright. Not bad, not bad at all. Which is way more than can be said for the 4th installment in a lot of trilogies. Lots of trios have popped out a serious turd for their 4th. Terminator:Salvation, Superman IV, Batman & Robin, Indiana Jones and the Raping of My Childhood....
So in light of all of that...decent flick. I think it could have used some more work, to be sure. But entertaining, in a weak sort of way. Like a comedian you chuckle at instead of laughing hard at.
Would I own it? Probably. But I wouldn't race to get it.
