On Rallies, Political

Nov 04, 2008 17:04

Ok, I've only got a couple hours to get this in before it's no longer topical.

But I really don't get the political rally.

I mean, talk about an easy crowd, preaching to the choir. Those are some very enthusiastic, easy to please people.

The people who go to a political rally are already going to vote for that candidate. Nobody shows up at a rally because they want to hear more.

So...with that in mind, those big ass speeches really aren't for the people there, are they? They're for those of us watching on our TVs when we've got CNN on. For us to listen to and hear what was said. They give those of us who are unsure a great insight into the charisma and plans of the candidate in question. They are never, ever a local thing, not really.

And that's where Palin fucked up, isn't it? She forgot about those cameras and how they can show what she's saying to the people in front of her to ALL the people everywhere.

All that crap about "Oh, you guys are the real Americans! All you small townsy folks!"

Whoops. You forgot how TV works, didn't ya? You forgot us "Fake Americans" can hear you. And we are not happy lady. You can take your condescending attitude and shove it up your beauty queen ass. I am done with you. Gods willing, in the next few hours I can forget you ever happened.
