Dear SGA fandom,
A
PowerBar or Power Bar is a brand of protein energy bar (it is also a
slang term for an alcohol-induced erection, but that is neither here nor there). That means it isn't a power bar or a powerbar just like correction fluid isn't witeout and not all bandages are Band-Aids. Yes, I'm being an insufferable nitpick.
And while I'm being an insufferable nitpick, is it really necessary to add an apostrophe before gate? Last time I checked, 'gate' was a word all by itself. And okay, yes, I did the 'gate thing once (and the zedPM thing before
bibliotech pointed out that we don't type zeePM, so zedPM is just as nonsensical), but then I realized it was annoying at that every time I read it, it sounds harsh and Germanic in my head, as if my mental reading voice has to cut off the breath at the apostrophe and then spit out gate.
And that doesn't make sense, I know, but neither does putting an apostrophe there.
Get William Strunk on the phone; we'll see what he has to say about this.
...I think I'm cranky today.
