I had one of those weird bouts of insomnia (about 2.5-3 weeks apart) right on schedule again. The "right on schedule" part does indicate possible hormonal factors. I suppose I better get other stuff down while I'm tracking it. This time I did fall asleep a bit earlier than usual and get a short hour in the morning so I'm a bit more well rested than usual.

--I don't think alcohol was a factor this time. I'd noticed it hitting on the rarer occasions when I had two drinks, and I only had one small (like an 8 ounce session) yesterday. I know some people notice issues with any change in consumption but a couple/few times a week I have nothing and I'm fine so I don't think that was it.

--The kiddos did crawl in with me, which is not so common anymore, and is an near universal factor when this happens. That said, they did this a lot over holiday break with no issue (most of the time I honestly don't notice).

--I ate very healthy yesterday. Seemingly enough and not too much, and nothing especially spicy or gassy.

--Professional stuff is typical. Busy but good short-term, and a bit more up in the air long term...nothing unusual from the typical night, though.

--Family/brother is stable at the moment even if no positive news either.

--Caffeine consumption normal.

--I feel very healthy...not sick at all

Some potentially unusual things I didn't think of last time:

--I did not work out yesterday, and I typically do, 5 to 6 times a week

--We had a big weather/rain system moving out. I do tend to be sensitive to pressure changes sometimes (headaches, joint pain) and while I did not get those things this time, it is something my body seems to tune into.

--Whenever I've shared a bed my whole life, there have been occasional nights where I've been like, "geez, this is cramped" and moved to another bed/couch. I realized Bridget got a new mattress some months ago and this tactic hasn't worked since we've had it...I've never fallen asleep on it. I suppose it could be an issue for me, but as an avid camper and someone who likes to travel, I'm not generally sensitive to varying sleep surfaces AT ALL, although I know many are.

Anyway, the good news, is this wasn't any more closely spaced, so not getting worse despite my "discussing" it, but figured I should get this down...
