“Sho was getting his picture taken with kishi, and the rest are playing outside.”
“Then why didn’t you join?”
“Because, first, it’s hot, and I’ll get sunburn if I join, and secondly, I don’t find any intention in joining them.”
“Why? You are good friend with them right?”
“Yeah right,”
“What does that suppose to mean?” The older boy said, picking up his bag and putting his cap on,
“ Do I look like I’m being good friend with them?”
“In the magazine, yes,”
“You know how magazines works,”
“So you are telling me you don’t like them?”
The younger swift his position to the side then answer, “ It’s not that I don’t like them,” he then continue playing with the phone strap, “It’s just, I like being with you guys more than being with them.”
The older paused a little, “Ah... sou,” he said as he left the building, “ Souganai na~”
“I know,” The younger sigh. “ Ne, Daigo,” He said again,
“Mmm?”
“I miss you,”
“What are you saying, we’ll meet anyway to shoot maido jani right?”
“And after that? I should be going back to Tokyo again right?”
“Well,”
“Can I not go?”
“Eh?”
“Is it okay if I’m not going to Tokyo?”
“Uzaken de,”
“Arrrrgh, I’m frustrated!” the younger straighten up, scratching his hair desperately, “I don’t think I was good enough.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I look at them everyday, Daigo, and I don’t think I was good enough to join their group.”
“But you already there right?” Daigo said, his words hitch at the pit of his chest, “You already being part of them.”
“Eh, Daigo?”
“I’m sorry,” The older said, wiping a drop of tears at the corner of his eyes, “ It’s true right? You are a part of them now, you are not a part of us anymore.”
“What are you talking about?” Ren said, feeling slightly offended.
“Nothing,” Daigo said, walking slowly to the station, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
“Daichan,”
“I think I’m more frustrated than you are, Ren,”
“Why is that so?”
“ I don’t want you to be taken away from us,” the older said again, then stop for a while, “ I don’t want them to take you away from me,”
“Daichan~”
“I’m sorry,” The older said, pulling out his wallet from his pocket to take out his train ticket, “ It is me, that have to be worry,”
“What do you mean?” Ren said, frowning.
“ I don’t think I was good enough.” The older said, leaning to a pillar.
“You are good enough, Daigo, look, you just finish your play at the theater right?” The younger said, “That is something I couldn’t do, not as good as you,”
“Yeah but is it the quality they need? Is it what they want to look in an idol? I wasn’t that good of an idol,Ren, not as good as you.” The older said again, his voice hitched.
They paused a little, “ and the moment we realize it, you already at a place where you are belong, in the limelight, while me, I’m just here, where no one barely know me,” The older continue, voice getting hoarser every second.
“People know you Daigo, and they love you,”
“Not as much as they love you, and Sho,”
“bu-“
“I always dreaming that we could debut together, I don’t know, but it seems to be too imposible now,”
“it’s not impossible, it’s not,”
“It is, Ren.” Daigo sigh, “ I’m sorry, I got carried away,”
Then they both fall in silence
“Ne, Daigo,”
“Hmm?”
“I love you,” Ren started, “ I’ll work this out, I promise, there is nothing in this world can put us apart.”
