Story of PLKN : The first phase

Feb 03, 2011 12:44

Hey dears! So I'm on an approximately 5 days comeback from PLKN hiatus. CNY break began from Feb 01 till the Feb 06... n the Manjung bus is going back at 10 AM *srsly like what the hell that's is sooo freaking early!* So before anything, be u a Chinese or not.. I would like to first wish a a very happy CHINESE NEW YEAR / Gong Xi Fa Cai.. n may it be a splendid year to u! :3

Warning : this time I'm writing in English + BM... so forgive all the 'rojaks'~

So to say, my batch is the KUMPULAN 1 SIRI 8/2011. I'm currently assigned to KEM TEGAS MESRA, SELAMA, PERAK along with my schoolmate Zafirah n another boy. There is a total of 37 trainers/teachers n approximately 450 trainees which is currently the biggest number to date.Went there on 3rd of Jan n the camp supposedly end on 13th March~ *in which I wish would be a lot earlier depending on when the SPM result would be announced*. Right now is the CNY+semester break which closes off the first phase of this camp. That's it for overall view, n the rest.. are boring babbles n details~

ALPHA, THE RED COMPANY
We used to have sportshouse in school. But in PLKN we're divided into 4 companies namely Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta. Dorm A&B (wirawati) n Dorm 1&2 (wira) are automatically members of Alpha, n so on until Dorm H n Dorm 8. The Alpha company leaders, the wirawati was an STF (Sekolah Tun Fatimah) student, while the wira was SBPI Rawang student. Approximately 26 trainees in each dorm, comprising of Malay, Chinese n Indians, n the beds are arranged so that we'll mixed n not sit in groups. I've to change my original bed position for that~ Alpha company won the KKJ - n it was our first victory as the Keris Sakti with the red flag.

Coincidence? or Fate maybe? I'm in Dorm A, Zafirah in Dorm B, n the other boy is in Dorm 2. So all 3 of us are Alphians! xD Anyway, I srsly thnx God for putting me n Zafirah in same company though not the same dorm, her dorm is like a few steps in front of mine.. so I visit her regularly whenever I'm free.

THE GOOD ATMOSPHERE
I didn't get a very good first impression of the camp when I got there... Prolly coz of the hot weather + rain making it emitting a very 'cruel' aura reflected by the zincs n the faces of the trainers n armies there~ but now when I look at it again, it really feels like some sort of home - a comfy place to live in, except my dorm apparently the furthest dorm from the dining hall n the musolla. But we're the closest to Kedai Mesra (the camp small shop for beverages/snacks/Hello phonecard), the phone booth, Taman Mesra (spots for visitors) n the administration office.

Somewhere in the 2nd week, I was crying to Zafirah coz I felt lonely - like I have no fren. But then she told me to just.. slumber n talk to everybody. I try to do as she told n open up bit by bit, n I found my number of frens increasing... though I still deeply missing for my old KISAS frens!

Somebody asked if there's culture shock~ Well, maybe I did experience that a bit... the shocking culture is that, I was told by my seniors about various kind of ppl we'll be meeting in the camp and I was mentally prepared for that. But what I found there is everybody is so nice, very punctual in prayer time, wakes up very early, really respects the trainers, and is very helpful in many sorts of way and love to share things n foods. So I was like.. hey, this isn't that bad, right?! Everybody is nice n friendly n I haven't make enemy with a single person. I think the atmosphere around is really good~ ^^

Not to mention our trainers can turn from fierce to funny in a blink! I blv in most part in padang kawad we were laughing so much to their jokes. Again, military ppl know how to laugh! :D

BI'AH SOLEHAH
Outside of class or group works... between boys and girls are to be kept a distance of 2 METRES away from each other. Meetings must at least have 3 boys : 3 girls together. Less then 2m or 3:3 ratios --> punished! The disciplinary teacher brings pita pengukur every where he goes.. n trust me, ramai org dh kena ngan dia. And all I gotta say, this is far stricter than KISAS with a ratio 2:1!

Perempuan x bleh sinsing lengan baju... that's aurah! N that is just very rational of him to make such a rule~ And x bleh buka tudung in musolla... ni same cam kat Musolla Al-Muqorrobin. ^^

It was a great relief for me n Zafirah that our camp aren't like some camps our seniors told us about, where there r ppl who refused to solat n lied about their menstruation. In fact, we have "Ketua Siak" in each dorm to make sure everyone go to Musolla. 5 times a day we solat in jamaah. We frequently do row call mengejut to check attendace to musolla. Arriving to musolla before the azan ends is compulsory. If not, u'll have to pray in Padang Kawad. Cikgu x setakat ugut.. dia betul2 dah buat denda ni~
Tuesday morning -> Subuh lecture
Thursday -> Yaasin recitation + tahlil
Thursday + Friday night -> Religious class
Every night btween Maghrib-Isyak -> Tazkirah

Every trainees must greet the teachers, be it with an "Assalamualaikum" or a "Selamat Sejahtera". The value of respects are highly emphasised on. The trainers told us this countless time already, "if u respect us once, we'll respect u 10 times!"~

CIRCLES OF NEW BUDDIES
A bunch of ppl I know of had old friends from their school studying in KISAS... so these r some relationships I found amusing.. n at the same time very grateful for :
1. Tuan Nur Amalina (SMKA Wataniah) - same primary school with Fitri Fahmi, same secondary school with Amnah n Dir, Dir's best friend
2. Ummu & Hawa (SAMBest) - schoolmates with Fadhilah
3. Hana (SMKA Kerian) - schoolmates with Izzat Muhaimin, Afiq Zahin n Hadi. Once a Persatuan Usahan Muda contingent representing Perak along with my ex-schoolmates/best friends from SMK DARY
4. Adi (SAM Hisamuddin) - schoolmates with Fadhilah, Salwa n Laila
5. Asiyah (Al-Mahsyor) - Junior of Kak Farhana Aisyah

REACTIONS UPON HEARING "KISAS"
I know they aren't exactly amaze n all these are purely made up... but owh well~
1. "takut la~"
2. "rasa x layak plak" (x layak nak duduk sekali)
3. "ni pun KISAS jugak..? owh ni mesti budak2 pandai la ni~"
4. "ha budak KISAS, bagi idea!" (masa tgh reka kapal terbang using by nothing but newspapers only)
5. "KISAS ke?!"
6. "KISAS masa trial hari tu.. ranking nombor brape?"
7. "selama ni sekolah aku asyik buat soalan KISAS, x sangka dpt tgk budak KISAS yg sebenar depan mata"
8. "KISAS... eeee pandainye! Macammana korang blaja ha?"
... and some more I can't vividly remember.. Srsly, does ppl really look up to KISAS? O_O

CELLPHONES
U got in on Sunday at 7 am! U return it on the very same Sunday before 8 pm! That is to say, u cannot sleep overnight with it. It's the camp strict rule to avoid stealing though much to everyone's complaint since other camps allows handphones on Friday till Sunday.. that's 3 days n we don't even get it for 1 full day here. This camp is a lot stricter, but it's for the best. Owh but, there's only line for Celcom here.. Maxis users often look desperate on Sundays searching for lines.. Digi is no good too.. most Chinese use Digi, n guess what they say "Digi kata I will follow u, tapi kita yang follow dia".. n that simply had to make me LOL!

MEALS
We eat in trays. 6 times a day. The lunch and dinner are quite good - well it's the typical "asrama food" so I won't complain much... every night for supper we had tea/malt drink with biscuits~ very light meals unlike the mihoon soup/roti canai/bread/etc I used to have for supper in KISAS~ In the Dining Hall we sit in company, just like how I used to sit according to sportshouse in school. The only thing I wanna complaint is the food counter n the washing sinkies n the trays/glasses area are like a hundred miles away n u'll have to like go from one end to get the trays n get to another end to line up for food n back to the other end to wash it n return the trays n back to the previous end to head back to dorm... I'd say the traffic is so not efficient, not with girls crossing path with the boys' routes just to get there... n all 3 water cooler/heater machines are at the boys' area~

THE NOT-SO-HECTIC SCHEDULES
We're soon to start the aktiviti lasak after this CNY break. As for the first phase our mornings r filled with classes.
05:30 - wake up from bed
06:00 - go to musolla for subuh prayer (+ Subuh lecture on Tuesday morning)
06:30 -1st row call (sing the National Anthem - Negaraku, Wira Wirawati, & 1Malaysia theme song) + kawad + physical training
07:00 - 1st meal : breakfast
08:30 - 2nd row call + kawad
08:45 - enter class
09:00 - class starts
10:30 - 2nd meal : brunch break
11:00 - class restart
12:30 - class ends. 3rd meal : lunch
01:30 - go to musolla for zohor prayer
02:15 - 3rd row call + kawad
02:30 - class / talks (ceramah/taklimat) / kawad practice
04:30 - 4th meal : tea. go to musolla for asar prayer
05:30 - 4th row call + kawad practice + exercise
06:30 - 5th meal : dinner
07:15 - go to musolla for maghrib prayer + tazkirah
08:40 - still at musolla for isyak prayer
09:00 - self-administration if no programme / religious classes (Wednesday&Thursday)
10:00 - 6th meal : supper
10:30 - 5th row call + kawad
11:30 - light off
and the day restarts~ That's the schedule for Monday till Friday. On weekdays we only have morning n late night rowcalls instead of 5.. n there's not even a single thing to do, so yeah it's quite unbalance, with pack schedules on workdays n boringness to death on weekdays. For the first time ever I was hoping there is at least a novel to read.. though I'm really not into novels. We ended up sleeping the whole day from morning to evening until our heads felt heavy... or melepak at the restroom reading whatever newspapers we can find or watching TV which is controlled from the administration office which shows non-other than boring tv shows of adults' taste!

Sometimes when there's no programme, tcers gather us for movies or funny vidoes... like the showed us Kung Fu Panda and SETEM... so somehow it got our heads off of PLKN for a moment~ They showed us funny/heart warming inspirational video clips or music videos/songs of the current songs... so like, hey military people does know how to enjoy life, okay?!

CLASSES & PHYSICAL TRAININGS
Currently we are having our 3rd class after finishing the first n second one after the other.

First class : Character Building (Pembinaan Karakter)
Modul1 - Me : Bringing The Best Out of Me (Modul1 - Saya : Menampilkan yg Terbaik dlm Diri Saya) & Modul2 - Us : Bringing The Best Out of Others (Modul2 - Kita : Menampilkan yg Terbaik dlm Diri Orang Lain)
In module 2 we learn how to juggles up to 3 balls, like that in circus.. n I simply failed! lolll~ CB class is fun although it's full of embarassing things to do like u have to make weird actions in front of the whole class n all~

Second class : Modul Budaya Kerja (Sub-modul under Character Building) *hands down! I can't trans this in Eng*
Probably the most boring out of the three, but would have been one of the most useful knowledge to be used in the future if u really digest in the knowledge... but hey, at least we learn how to make a bird origami..~This class is more mature. It teaches us what employers these days want in their employees, the quality they're seeking to recruit their workers, how to handle job interviews n realising life goals.

Third class : Kelas Kenegaraan (Modul Kenegaraan)
Learn about what makes up a country. And trust me, if u score in History... u're gonna be good in this class.

The teachers there r great fun! U see a whole different person in the class than in the padang kawad.. it's like they have double personality! I srsly miss my CB teachers.. but my BK n Kenegaraan tcers r fun too..
Right now we are only taught the basic of marching (asas kawad).. we haven't really went that far in marching... during the practice we have to wear "full loreng" outfit like the armies, except it is blue in colour, along with the belt, the beret n the spike boot! Looks cool, ne dun u think? On Friday morning we'll do Senam Seni, more like 27 minutes of aerobic comprising of the combination of traditional dances of different races in Malaysia... n I still can't get the steps until now! Damn!

Almost every evenings we all gathered at Padang Kawad for riadhah~ There are sports equipments like badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, volleyball, netball n takraws assigned to each company for us to play n practice with for the upcoming tournaments~ At the same time, the physical trainers would turn on loud musics on the stage n do aerobics or simply poco-poco n anybody who wish to follow her can join in~ We got really sweaty but for the first time after these whole years, I find exercising to be again!

TO BE IN 2ND PHASE
Tcers said the marching/volleyball/netball competitions between companies are to be held after this... n in the 2nd phase we'll also experience kayaking, shooting using real guns - the M16, flying fox, 'kembara halangan' (like going through obstacles), wirajaya (camping n survival in the forest), 'sukan kreativiti', navigation, krafhutan (making jungle crafts) n other outdoor stuffs since we've almost finished with the classes~ So u bet the 2nd phase would be a lot cooler n challenging than what we have atm. All these are under the Physical Module. Also there'll be a Community Service Module like... lending a hand in old folks home, maintaining the pools at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort n those sorts of thing~ It's one of the 4 modules in PLKN. Srsly I'm anticipating going to Bukit Merah this yr!

What else... others r minor stuff I dunno how to write about anymore, I spent hours writing this though I know NOBODY is gonna be reading... it's prolly for my own use to reminisce back my old memories once I'm out of there. Well, it won't be long. Our batch supposedly completed PLKN on 13th March, but considering the SPM result might be announced way earlier, we might end just as early. Anyhow, JLKN is discussing the matter with JPN coz we're short in time to carry out all those activities. PLKN is supposed to last for 3 months, but this time it's only for 71 days... n if the SPM result is much earlier, then I'll say it's no more than 2 months! Well, I want it to end fast coz I can't imagine separating from internet for another month, but I still want to experience all those adventures the people before us did! That's the real reason behind all these PLKN anticipation in the first place, ne?!

So, that's it for now! Srsly... I haven't been doing essays for like ages, n this is prolly my longest entry in these few years..~ Anyhow, take care lovelies! :3 I just done backtracking Kat-tun by backtracking 320 entries back all the way from 2nd of Jan! Pheww~ glad I'm 85% done now! Not to mention a long list of dwloads I haven't even begin with.. Internet really hates me these days n I dunno y!

And yesterday Ultimate Wheels is out on sale! Good job KAT-TUN! UW is such an awesome song n I luv it! The PV is beautiful.. though I haven't watch it.. only through caps n gifs! I'm sooo outdated, ne?! >_>

comeback, plkn
