Stockholm Syndrome - preview

Genre: Drama?? im not actually sure
Summary: the title says it all
A/N: I'm really not sure if im going to continue this one or not, it's just a sample of a developing idea. Im not sure if it's going to be one-shot or chaptered if i go through with it. I'm not going to post it on any fan sites at the moment, seeing as it's just an idea. but yes, if you do happen to come across it, tell me what you think ^.^
She could see the flashing red and blue lights through the night fog. Her breath caught in her throat as she knew what this meant, they had come for her. She trembled as the cool wind blew through the window she monitored the activity below from. A shiver ran up her spine as she felt the cold touch of her lover on the bare skin of her arms. She felt his strong arms wrap around her panic stricken body and his warm breath tingled on the back of her neck. He leaned forward and kissed her softly on the cheek. Silence filled the air, and she knew what this meant.
“No.” She said icily. She refused to leave. Back to the barren place she was unfortunate enough to call her home. Back to the life she was fortunate enough to be taken from. “I’m not going back.”
“Listen.” He grasped her shoulders firmly, startling her, as he gazed into her eyes. “If you stay, they’re going to come in here, and they’re going to find you, and you’ll have to go back anyway.” He almost whispered.
“No, I’m not leaving you!”
“Listen to me! I’m doing this so you don’t have to go back! If I stay here, I can hold them off long enough for you to escape undetected, do you understand?” He was almost shouting right now.
They heard a loud crash. They were trying to get inside.
Her tears stained her cheeks as she once again refused to leave. “No, not without you!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll never leave you, I’ll be with you when I get out of here. I promise.”
They heard another loud crash with the sound of footsteps. This time, they got through.
She froze. Time seemed to slow down, and everything around her was a blur.
He shook her furiously. “Run.”
She heard the sounds of their footsteps. She took a step back, not wanting to take her eyes off him for fear they would never look upon him again.
He stepped forward, brushed his lips against her and whispered. “Run and never look back.”
She ran until her heart felt it would explode out of her chest, his final words replaying in her mind over and over…
Run.
The piercing sound of bullets shooting through the air invaded the silence, begging her to move her legs faster.
Run and never look back.
Run. Run and never look back.
And then silence filled the air.
Run.
Silence; except for the sound of her racing heart.
Run, and never look back.
