A cold after summer breeze found its way through thin layers of fabric and Kibum checked his phone for the nth time. Cheolyong was late, he noticed.
The gangly young man shrugged and buried his nose further into the warm collar of his jacket as he tugged his hands some deeper into his pockets, his cellphone disappearing in one of the corners. He sighed, unable to hide his disappointment. He had hoped that things would be different this time. Once more, he allowed his eyes to trail around the area in hopes of finding the familiar silhouette of his boyfriend. The playground was however, still deserted and he decided it was time to go.
He pushed his lanky body off the swing and started walking. He straightened his back and popped his nose over the collar of his jacket, revealing bits more of his face. A faint smile played on his lips, Kibum refused to show his disappointment to the world. No one had to know he waited for nothing again.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when two muscular arms warped themselves around him from behind and his was to resist. It wasn't until the familiar scent of that awful deodorant Cheolyong swore by entered his nose that he stopped struggling. He sunk back against the other's chest and softly he spoke, "you're late."
"I'm sorry," a heavy voice mumbled next to his ear. It was soft and a little bit husky. Kibum assumed he had been running the entire way in a desperate attempt to be on time. Kibum's body reacted to his hold, to his voice, as if it was a drug. He needed more.
He turned around, Cheolyong's arms now swiftly moving to his hips and contently resting there. He raised his brow, seemingly unimpressed with the other's presence, but pressed his lips against Cheolyong's anyway. The kiss was short and soft, Long enough for Kibum to taste the sweet remains of what he assumed to be a cherry lollipop on the other's lips, but not far enough for Cheolyong to lean in and kiss him back.
"Hey!"
A childish whine escaped from Cheolyong's lips as Kibum pulled away and hid his lips behind his collar once more, protecting them from any further contact. Cheolyong pouted and Kibum raised his brows, albeit a little amused.
"It's your own fault," he said, shrugging the broader man's arms off and stepping back. "Do you have any idea how long I waited there?"
A part of him was mad, hurt maybe. Just not mad enough to not-accept the sincere apology that Cheolyong fired at him. Stumbling over his own words with with huge (unnecessary) movements, he attempted to explain himself. He had been busy, so busy that he lost track of time. Changsun had been nagging about this one routine he just didn't get the gist from and Seungho hadn't been of much help either, obviously agreeing with Changsun. In the end, practice had took time than he had expected, but he really had tried to be on time. He had ran very fast and, "besides... I don't need to be on time for you to know I love you. Whether I'm 10 seconds late, 10 minutes or an hour. It has nothing to do with what we feel for each other. It means you're too good to be true because you're always still waiting for me, but it doesn't mean I don't love you. Because I do, more than anything or anyone."
Kibum's bit his lower lip, allowing himself to believe the sugary sweet words for once, without replying with a snarky comment. Cheolyong took his hand in his, his thumb ghosting over Kibum's palm, sending a thousand little bolts through his body. "Just don't tell my mom that I said that last part, because she's not gonna like it," he grinned. And that was it. The words 'I love you' and the stupid moronic grin. Kibum sighed.
"Come here, idiot." Kibum janked the older male closer, pressing his lips fiercely onto the other one's, pretty determined not to let it end as soon this time.
