CHAPTER LINKS HERE~ Chapter 2:
My sister is Kei, it should have been Kaye but no it is Kei. She’s nearly eighteen and she’s my almost perfect sister. But who would have thought, that that almost like a doll living lady is still imperfect to someone’s eyes? And that someone is by the name Kota.
The first time I saw Kota, I knew instantly how much my sister despise him. That would be obvious, because my sister is glaring at him. Wow, Kei is actually glaring. My softie Kei. Anyways, I also learned that Kota is a very much despicable perfectionist. Very much despicable. I hated him a lot, but that was once.
When he came, he was instantly recognized for beating my sister out of the number one rank in academics. It seems like he had been perfecting everything, no mistakes at all. And I had once called him a freak. He’s still a freak though, for me. He also drew all the attention to him when he started playing sports. Especially in soccer. He had became an instant regular in their school’s team and had earned a lot of admires in their school. Do you know the saying that a man is over a woman? Yes, and that philosophy seemed to work in their situation. Not that Kei cared that much for attention, it seemed even to help her from being too much of a perfect living creature. But thanks to Kota, who seems to be too attracted to my sister, he had always brought her to the spotlight of frustration.
It was a fine day, a very fine indeed. Kei had dropped her sister in her school before herself headed to her own. She greeted everyone with a smile and giggled with some girls who joked with her. They love her and she does love them all back. She politely greeted the teachers and even bothered on asking her classmates to settle down because their homeroom teacher would be coming anytime soon. They all obliged to her sweet request and settled down on their seat, she herself had seated on her normal space and patiently waited with her classmates. It took another five minutes before their usual middle aged lady homeroom teacher came in their room. She smiled at them after they greeted her and instantly she announced that someone would be joining them. A tall boy entered the classroom, his eyes instantly scanning the four walled space before smiling making the girls except of Kei giggle with excitement. He was introduced and was asked to settle down next to Kei, who would be the one to tour him around the premises.
“Hello” Kei smiled at her new classmate and skidded for a better space between them
“A girl never skids or slide” Kota said, looking at the space Kei had given
“Excuse me?” Kei asked, her brows threatening to pucker
“You’re not listening” Kota shook his head with rather disappointment in his action. “As I have said, a girl never skids or slide” he repeated
“I dare to say, why shouldn’t a girl skid or slide?” Kei asked, tilting her head sweetly as she controls her irritation within her. She is a controlled girl and a simple lecture won’t affect her, and she repeated it thrice in her head.
“Because it’s very unlady like” Kota simply answered “And I don’t have time to argue with such simple fact of etiquette that a lady should have known already with the age of ours” he gingerly moved his lips and turned his head to look ahead where their homeroom teacher had started to explain all of the needed things they must do before she’d set them free.
It was frustrating and Kei couldn’t think of anything else more as she tried to remain calm in front of Kota. He is indeed a very handsome man, his eyes the most attractive part of him. Bold and yet something is mysterious within them. He’s very challenging too with his knowledge grasping everything and within seconds he knows every detail. It somehow scared Kei and it also somehow hurt her ego as he would always flicker that disappointment in his eyes whenever she’d fail to give him an answer he demands for.
As the day ended, Kei couldn’t help but to hide in one of the stalls in the girl’s comfort room and silently fused her built up anger to the roll of wash paper. She put all of her wanted slaps to Kota on the poor thing by pulling it continuously until it reached its end, leaving brown roll that once held the papers now on the floor. She looked at her deed and regretfully wasted the papers on the trash bin. She looked at her time and gasped seeing that she’d be late on fetching her sister. She straightened her self and hurriedly went back to the classroom for her bag. And as she reached the stairs, her hand clumsily slid off the rail almost causing her to fall down the steps, but a hand caught her wrist and pulled her in balance on her feet. She nervously smiled and looked at her saviour to smile but it fell into a blank reaction as she saw Kota eyeing her again with that disappointment.
“That’s why it is said not to run on the halls and stairs, a normal precaution” Kota said, pointing the small plaque plastered on the stair wall. Kei turned her head to look at it as well and she bit her lower lip trying to control the madness building up in her chest.
She just blinked as Kota’s thumb brushed her lower lip softly and slowly she let go of her chewed lower lip.
“You shouldn’t be biting your lips or chew on them, they are not food” Kota said and gingerly went down the steps. “See you tomorrow Kei-san” he bid and left
“How dare you!” Kei hissed and stomped her feet but she couldn’t waste more time since she’s growing later on fetching Yuri.
She was completely fine when Kota defeated her in studies; she was just after all consistent on her purposes of being good at studying. She was still alright when Kota stole all the attention when it came to sports since after all she as well admires the boy with his outstanding skills. But what made her all be frustrated and fuming on the subjects, would be that Kota would always find a thing to point out her incompetence. She’s not competing in the first place, she was just being diligent to her responsibilities. Her parents wanted her to be outstanding and they are all still proud at her even though she just ranges on the second place, Yuri had even asked “What’s wrong with number two?” and she got all of its senses but Kota, Kota, the perfect Kota all sees her fault. He’d be asking her nonstop what had went wrong for her to get an imperfect score in their examinations, what made her not to compete in any sports that she once had ranked first. She could have simply ignored all of his demands for perfection but she couldn’t. She was after all had fallen in love with him. She had grown an unwanted affection to the boy and she was regretting it somehow.
“What went wrong?” Kota asked her, putting a gentle finger on top of her paper where an encircled 95 is written. Kei looked at him for a while and sighed as she slumped her shoulders.
“I don’t know” Kei almost inaudibly answered
“Your back” Kota pointed out and Kei sighed again before she straightened her back “And don’t break a sigh” he said and Kei stopped herself from sighing once more “What happened?” he asked again and Kei glanced at her paper, cursing it in her mind.
“I simply don’t know” Kei answered “I think I missed a spot” she said
“You shouldn’t be missing a spot, you needed to scan over them before answering. You should be reading the instruction before writing. That’s normal fact” Kota lectured and Kei was tempted to sigh again
“I- I’d jus-s-t do my best next time” Kei stammered, her lower lip already trembling as she held herself
“It’s not good to stammer” Kota pointed out with his strict voice
“I’m sorry” Kei apologized and stood up, turning her back as she tried to leave the classroom
“Where are you going?” Kota asked, holding on Kei’s arm to stop her from leaving
“I need the use the bathroom, excuse me” Kei swallowed and headed out.
Could you see the problem now why this Kota ruined my sister’s life? As you can see, he’s the living Mr. Perfect and he’s pulling out a Ms. Perfect from my sister. I hate him for real, do and yeah! But somehow I felt pity over him, pity much of his being a perfectionist in life.
The heat is definitely wonderful on the skin, Yuri gaily made her way to the fields and watched the group of boys enjoying the game of soccer. She excitedly run towards the benches and beamed before she threw up her hand on the air and waved it excitedly to someone. She giddily waited after she caught the attention of that someone and was now running towards her.
“Hi Yamachan” Yuri giggled and reached for a towel that she passed to the boy smiling at her.
“Hi Yu, what brought you here?” Yamada asked, accepting the towel from the petite girl beaming at him
“Nothing, I just wanted to see you” Yuri answered, pouting her lips
“Oh~” Yamada nodded down “Well, why don’t you just seat there for a while and wait for me until we finish this game?” he asked, jerking his head towards the benches
“Alright” Yuri nodded down and waved as Yamada went back on the game. She sighed and went to the benches, settling her self comfortably as she waits for the game to end.
“So, are you Yamada-kun’s girlfriend?” someone asked and that made Yuri turn her attention to the boy seated not so far from her. She titled her head, frowning since the boy is not looking at her directly but rather on the game console beeping on his hands.
“No” Yuri answered, scooting closer to the boy “I’m his best friend” she pouted, giving Yamada a glance
“And you like him, don’t you?” the boy asked
“I do” Yuri answered “But not that much to be his girlfriend. He is my best friend ever since” she shrugged “And why are you asking by the way?” she asked, arching a brow to the boy now who paused his game and looked up to Yuri
“Just asking” the boy shrugged “And you are waiting for him, that’s what girlfriends do” he shrugged again
“And what best friends do too” Yuri pouted “And what are you doing here? Waiting for you boyfriend as well?” she snapped
“No” the boy retorted “I’m waiting for my brother” he said jerking his head to the fields
“Oh really? So who’s your brother?” Yuri asked
“The one who’s wearing blue” the boy answered “That’s my brother and his name is Kota” he smiled
“You mean, that Kota?” Yuri asked pointing at the tall boy now kicking the ball for the goal
“Yes?” the boy answered
“That!?” Yuri exclaimed
“What?” the boy asked
“That boy makes my sister cry!” Yuri cried out, standing on the bench to point at Kota.
“Your sister would be Kei?” the boy asked
“That’s my sister!” Yuri answered biting her lips as she faced the boy
“Oh, the doomed lady” the boy shook his head
“How dare you!? Who are you to speak ill to my sister?” Yuri snapped
“As I answered a while ago, I’m Kota’s brother and my name is Ryutaro” the boy shrugged “Your sister is definitely doomed as I said because my brother’s eyes are on her” he added
See, even though Kota has a good reason to be cursed, I did not curse him. Why? Because he’s Ryutaro’s older brother.
