CHAPTER LINKS HERE~

It has been a week since Kota was been lock in a room with two servants coming in and out to serve his meal and ten guards standing alert, with half of them guarding outside his room, and the other half outside the house. It’s a very tight security indeed that he can’t escape right there and then. And besides people hired by his father are definitely excellent in whatever circumstances that may arise. But it maybe impossible, he’ll take a risk to get out from there to have a chance to see and to take Kei with him in a place without parents and other annoying people around them.

“Somebody help us!!!!...” yelled by the servant while pulling his young master outside the bathroom who drowned himself inside the tub with slashed and bleeding wrists. The bleeding was too much that the water in the tub is now as thick as the color of the blood and the paleness on the tone of the boy is now as white as the tiles on the floor. Bloods continue to drip as the servant drag the boy toward the bed to be wrapped with a blanket while the other servant is now strapping the wrists to stop the bleeding.

“He’s not breathing and no pulse is present!... we need to call an ambulance for this…” said by the other servant as he checked every life sign on the condition of the boy. Without further waiting, he did the phone call himself to save his young master who is now running out of life.

Rumbling footsteps arrive after a minute and a guard with a license in lifesaving did the CPR until the ambulance and experts arrived to save Kota. The boy was brought to the nearest hospital right away and the servants called the parents to be informed.

“What?...” hissed by the woman after her husband revealed the situation of their eldest son. “Why did he do that?...”

“That idiotic son of yours is really challenging me!...” he snapped as he clicked his tongue in annoyance. He was absolutely aware of Kota’s behavior and attitude since the boy was still in diapers but this time he seemed not to know his son anymore. Suicide is too far from his imagination already but Kota did it like as if life is nothing but a trash of garbage. “Take care of him for I can’t stand seeing his face anymore!...” he demanded and the woman took his hands in a clasp until it was drawn into her face.

“Why is this happening to us?...” she asked and hints of tears are now forming on her lids. “What did we do to have this kind of children?...” she sobbed and the man brought her into his arms for comfort and warmth. “Is our care not enough for them to see how much we love them?...”

“I don’t know…” a mumble response of her husband and this answer resonates on her head again and again. She herself has no idea either because all she did for the last years is to work and work so that Kei and Kota will have a life which is better than anyone out there. And her husband is doing triple or even more than that to raise their name in the business world. “I’ll take care of Kei so take care of Kota for me…” he bartered and the woman agreed on it.

On the face of being betrayed and being messed up, Kei confronted his friend, Daiki, who had been doing all the misery he had encountered for the last week. It’s a bitter confrontation for sure and he’s aware of the possible outcome of this conversation but he needs the reason so as the cause of this infidelity to end any conceptions he had inside his head.

“Why did you do this to me?!...” Kei asked as he slammed all the pictures he had taken from the locker to the guy who got startled right away. “I trusted you!... I believed in you!... and I even thanked you for being with me all this time!... but why?!...”

“How did you---”

“Don’t ask me back because I ask you first!... so answer me!!!...”

“Kei…” he lowered down his head for countless reasons are now banging his conscience to speak. It’s not that he doesn’t want to explain or to answer but guilt so as his fears of loosing Kei is now zipping his mouth to shut up.

“WHAT!!!...” Kei forced out all his anger by pushing his friend to the wall half-heartedly. It was a great impact that a plop sound was heard clearly the moment Daiki’s back was smashed on the wall. “Do you want me to beat you up first?!...” he yelled and the guy winced on that. “Are you really forcing me to beat you up Daiki?!!!...”

“If that will make you happy then beat me to death Kei!...” Daiki responded finally but tears are now beading his cheeks, wetting his face in a shameful mess. “If that is the only way for you to see me then do it!...”

“See you?...” Kei asked, for the reasons he just heard are too vague for his comprehension. “I’m always with you and I always see you!... so stop blabbering there and tell me your real intention!...”

“You!...” Daiki screamed the word at last, it is the reason he wanted to be freed from the bottom of his heart and the feeling he wanted to be express from being hidden for a very long time. He was not sure to tell about it at first since he thought friendship is the only possible way for him to get close to the one he likes. But the moment he knew that Kei is in the same situation as him, a guy who likes other guys also, he decided to level up just like in the game he always played. “I want you to depend on me, to be beside me, to be with me always, to see me not only as a friend, and to love me unconditionally!...”

“You did those bullying and insults just because of that?...” Kei asked unbelievably. He never thought that Daiki could do those evil-doings in order to trap him into a relationship that is merely fantasy. It was just a prank for God sake! But the stigma on it is too harsh for someone who is as sensitive as him. “What kind of a person are you?...”

“A fool Kei!...”

“Well then, I don’t remember having a friend who is as fool as you!...”

And so the expected outcome that Kei had thought really happened. He and Daiki are no longer friends but sometimes the latter would do some approach like hopping on his back or asking for a high five, but he’s doing the negation in response. He felt sad seeing Daiki getting further in further from him but what can he do? He was betrayed and that betrayal had etched a mark which bleeds everytime he sees his ex-friend roaming around him.

The bullying was also stopped and everyone in their campus seemed to forget. It’s a peaceful life for him again but loneliness is now hunting him. No friends, no greetings, no fame, no existence and above all no Kota beside him. His parents are also having problems lately and this burden him by looking at them in a problematic state. Sometimes he would like to talk but his father is always busy doing all the business stuff alone while his mother is always on the run and he doesn’t know why? It seems like everything is not in their proper places anymore and this started because of his decision to accept the feelings of his brother. Now he feared that sooner or later everything will start to fade and disappear. And that everything could not only be a thing but also a person.

“Good morning Kei…” the greeting that urged him to pace faster and to ignore the one who greeted him for the person is no other than Daiki. “It’s ok if you ignore me…” Daiki pleaded while catching up from behind. “I just had something to tell you so hope you can listen…”

“Get lost!...” Kei demanded and the guy rushed up to block his way just like before. “Didn’t I say---”

“Sure I will… but I just wanna say goodbye before that…” Daiki said in a rush and the guy before him eventually stopped from shooing him away. “I’m transferring Kei so hope this could make you comfortable…” he fumbled as soon as he looked away to cover the sorrow that are now forming on his face little by little. “And I think we’ll never see each other again…” he chuckled not because he’s trying to blow some humor but because he doesn’t want to cry.

Separation is indeed painful but this is the only way he knows to bring the Kei, the one who always smile, back to life. Since all the sparks he had seen from the face, expression and eyes of the guy had faded the moment he was revealed as the culprit behind the scandal. So the better way to regain back whatever that was lost is to disappear on the eyes of the one who had suffered a lot from him.

“Are you serious?...” Kei asked.

“Do I sound funny?...” he cracked a joke still for cover ups.

“No…”

“Then that’s it…” he smiled before he raised his heels to steal a kiss he had wished to happen for a very long time. It was just a peck in a quick motion but everything on it is already satisfying. And this moment will be the most treasured memory he’ll had for the rest of his life even it means parting. “Sorry for taking that without permission…” he looked away. “And sorry for everything Kei…” he sobbed before he turned his back to run away. “Goodbye…”

Kei, who was still motionless and shock, reach out a hand to grab the guy who just fled but again, it’s too late for Daiki had gone too far from him already. “Daiki!...” he shouted and the guy did some waiving at him before disappearing in the crowd. “Was he really serious?...” he asked himself.

“Yes he is…” said by someone behind his back. Kei took a pivot to see the guy who just answered him and a paper with a note and signature signed by Daiki was handed to him. “He did it to clean your name…” he said and Kei gasped on the scribbled words that are written on the paper. It says that everything was just a prank and the pictures are computer edited plus the bullying was done in a purpose to destroy the image of Kei who is aiming to top the class at the end of the school year. And by doing all that stuff, Daiki had decided to drop as discuss by the school administrations and teachers. It is the only way for the guy to regain his schooling in other school without listing his name on the black list.

“Yaotome-san why did he---”

“Don’t ask me because I can’t give you an answer to that… but I want you to focus Kei… because I feel like I don’t have any competition in academics anymore…” Yaotome said with his fingers tipping the brace of his glasses again--- his habit everytime he’s talking to someone who is at his level. “And as an advice…” he stated this phrase strongly for he want the guy to take note on his next statement. “Make things right before everything is too late…”

Kei could not say anything in response even the glassy-guy had walked away from him already. It seems like everything inside him is shattering to pieces, pounded to ashes and burnt to nothingness. The stigma is gone but the pain is still there. Knowing that Daiki had done something irreversible, he felt like guilt is now hunting him instead of loneliness. Is this the result of his selfish love? Why God is so punitive? He did nothing wrong but to love the one he yearns to be with him for the rest of his life but why is this happening to him?

Making things right is another issue. Decision is quite tough in his recent situation because everything is still in a mess. If he would choose something which is less destroying then he’ll give up an important someone and that is probably Kota. And if he chooses something which is destroying then he’ll give up everything and that could be his parents. Two opposing option are too much for him already. But what will he choose when the time comes that he needs to decide?

“Mom… what’s wrong?...” he asked after he dumped his bag on the floor to run toward the woman who is crying on the couch as if the world is about to end already. The house is in disarray that the tables, the chairs, the vases, the porcelain ornaments and even the kitchen tools, are scattering everywhere. Some of the beverages are also stacked on the tables but none of them were opened. And call devices such as phones and cellphones are messing with those stuffs that were thrown on the floor. “Mom… tell me…”

“Your brother---” she was cut due to the presence of her husband who just arrived on their doorway. “Hon... did you find---”

“He’s dead…” he stated with no emotion at all.

“What are you talking about?... and who’s dead?...” Kei asked with his head turning a confusing stare from his mother to his father. “Dad!...”

“Your brother was hospitalized two weeks ago and he recovered two days ago. He left the hospital this morning without the knowledge of your mother and my bodyguard. We searched for him and we found the car he had used from absconding under a cliff…” he paused and Kei gave him a tearful expression which is exactly alike to his grieving wife. It hurts him seeing his family in this condition but everything had happened already and he can’t do anything about it anymore.

“Where is he?...” Kei asked.

“Dead…” he heaved a sigh and the two, who were on the couch, mourned over the lost.

“You’re lying!... he’s not dead!...” Kei cried as he dashed to kneel and to beg at his father. “Tell me Dad that he’s not dead!... please!...”

“I’m sorry…”

Another person was lost and Kei is now shattered not only emotionally but also physically. Everything on him is already affected; his studies, his goals and even his desire to live also. Crying is not enough anymore to mourn over his lost. It maybe tragic and painful but sometimes he desired to have the courage just like Romeo--- the guy who killed himself for Juliet. But how will he do that if his parents are in need of him? It’ll be more devastating if he died ahead of them and besides life is the thing that Kota would like him to have. So live-on is the goal he had set in mind after the funeral of his beloved brother had ended.

“Kei…” called by his mother.

“Yes Mom?...” he asked as he shifted his gaze from the newly crafted mound to the woman who is hooking a hand at his left arm.

“I and your Dad had decided to move to Canada after your graduation…”

“But Mom---”

“We have decided on that already Kei so don’t argue anymore…” stated by his father as an intrusion to his objection and he can’t fret on that anymore. “Your education will be continued there and everything is set to what’s best for you…” he glowered and the boy did nothing but to listen at him passively. He can’t blame his son to be like that for he had set his own rule that if he talks everyone should only listen.

“You’re father is right Kei… So just think of this as a new start…” explained by his mother as an addition to what had been decided and he just gave his permissive nod even though he doesn’t want to. “Let’s go home…”

“Can I stay here for a while…” he pleaded and the two permitted him to stay. “Don’t worry… I’ll be home before sunset!...” he promised while waiving at the car which is now running outside the gate of the cemetery.

“Pretty nice tomb huh?...” the reaction that freaked him out. He looked back and found a guy in a white shirt, tattered pants and hooded gray jacket staring at the newly established ossuary. The face of the stranger is partly covered by the hood but he knows to whom that feature belongs to. And he’s sure that the stranger is no other than…

“K-K-Ko!...” he stuttered in surprise that his body shivered until a comforting hug wrapped around his frame. “I thought you were dead?...” he gasped.

“Dead?...” he chuckled as he savor the scent he had missed so much. He could say that Kei haven’t change a bit since the time they were separated. The perfume which he always loved to be snuffled is still on the neck that he can’t stop himself from sniffing on it even to the last speck of fragrance on the shoulder. The back so as the arms, which are wrapped on his bony yet muscle-packed limb, are still on the same size and fragility. And the face where everything is carved to the finest is still as beautiful as before only that the eyes are partly sore from crying probably. “I would rather choose hell than sleeping under that ground with dirt as my blanket and worms are my dream-mates…” he loosened up as he shift his left hand to the neck of his little brother. “And didn’t I say that I’m capable of doing impossible things when it comes to you…” he breathed and the next thing that happened is a suffocating kiss of hunger.

Kei fought back to withdraw or to push his brother from dominating him in the kiss but the more he protest the more he’s loosing. “Ko…” he moaned but his mouth was shut when the guy invaded it with a tongue until he kissed back. And through that, he noticed that he, himself, missed the guy more than Kota had missed him. He wrapped his arms around the shoulder of his brother and Kota shifted to his waist to pull him up. Electrifying chills and lascivious feelings are now domineering him but he need to stop or else they’ll end up fucking each other in the cemetery. “Stop I can’t breathe…” he panted.

“That was long…” Kota smiled.

“How did you survive?...” Kei asked but before Kota could give him an answer he ranted questions in a row. “Who’s body is in there?...” he pointed at the tomb. “Why didn’t you told us that you’re alive?...” he puckered his brows. “Why are you here?...” he wondered. “And why are you wearing that shabby clothes?...”

“Slow down…” he patted the head of his little brother and this calms the latter to subside from raising questions subsequently. “I absconded the hospital and along the way, a man with a gun asked me to drive him to a place with a steep, cliff or bridge or else he’ll kill me. I was about to go to your school that day but under circumstances I can’t, so I change my destination to a place I remembered with a cliff. And the moment I had settled the car to his desired location, he told me to ditch him or else he’ll shoot me so I run away. Then the next thing I knew, he suicide…”

“That’s tragic but why didn’t you told us that you’re alive?... Mom was so desperate of loosing you and Dad was so sad that he drowned himself with liquors and beers after he knew that you died…”

“Because…” he leaned forward to lessen the gap he had with his brother before he continued, “I want you to come with me…”

“What?...”

“Let’s run away Kei…” Kota said as he tip the chin of his brother with his forefinger and thumb. “Let’s live together without them…”

“But---” he was shut for a kiss had plummeted before he could object and he can’t withdraw anymore since Kota had braced him more securely than before. “Please…” he begged for a stop when Kota had broke a kiss for them to gasp some air but the latter took his words differently. “Wait!... where are you bringing me?...” he asked when Kota starts dragging him in a secluded area where no one could see them, a place at the back of a small chapel where walls are standing a meter against each other. “Stop!...” he pulled back but his spine was pinned on the wall even before he could took his arm from his brother’s grip. “Ko No!...” he struggled this time and the guy stopped right away.

“Why?...”

“Because I don’t want to!...”

“You don’t want to come with me?...”

“No!...”

“Then you’re coming with me?...” Kota asked delightfully.

“No!!...”

“I don’t get you…” he sighed desperately. “Kei will you---”

“Let’s make this right Ko… you should tell Mom and Dad that you’re alive and we should stop this relationship for the better…”

“NO!!!...” Kota objected. “I’m not giving up Kei!...”

“But were hurting them already and we are making everything worst…” he explained but the guy is just pacing before him, back and forth with one hand on the waist and the other hand scratching on the head, while sighing and groaning over his suggestion. “Ko… we should stop---”

“No!!!...” he cut in as he fists his hands on his sides but he can’t hurt his little brother. He had loved Kei more than anyone else and because of that love he had been very protective that even flies are not allow to drop a feet on the skin of his brother. So every anger and anguish inside him is set to limit once it comes to Kei. “Sorry for yelling…” he simmered down. “I can wait Kei… so just tell me if you’re ready and I’ll just snatch you from them…” he proposed.

“You don’t have to wait Ko… because my answer is no…”

“But Kei!...”

“I love you but we should make this right…” he sobbed bowing his head little by little until he’s eyes meet at the pavement glistened with lichen just before his feet.

“Are you giving up?...”

“Yes…”
