Chapter 7
Me and The Special Guest
CHAPTER LINKS HEREl

The ceremony where I was announced as the crown princess had ended peacefully that very day. I thought I couldn’t make it since I was so nervous on everything, starting to the talk and graces I have to show to people who were known as elite to the elites, to the intellectual comments and exchange of knowledgeable issues to the few people who were known to big business and to the demonstration of my most perfected and practiced social-manners. After all, being an amateur in social graces I was glad that I made it even without the presence of my tutor who is supposed to be there assisting me in the interaction and my butler who is supposed to be there as my escort. I don’t know if I should thank Takaki Yuya for taking the roles which are not supposed to be for him, yet he proved to me that he can be anyone else instead of being a bodyguard only, thus I decided to set my anger aside first at that time even though I hate him so much. Talking about hate, I was cursing Nakajima and Yamada that very day because they just came back after sunset, bringing with them nothing but only grumpy expressions on their faces. Now I wonder why? Was it really hard to look for something to be use as glue for my heel? Or was it very troublesome to look for a shoe that I could use? Or was it something else?...

“Why are you here inside my room?...” Yuri asked the moment she saw the butler standing beside her bed while doing the food preparation over the trolley. “Didn’t I say that you’re now allowed to be here!...” she stipulated the order she had demanded before but the guy still continues on doing something just to ignore her. “Nakajima Yuto!...” she put an exclamation this time but the guy still persist on getting busy. “Kao-chan!!!!... Kao----”

“She’s not here anymore…” Yuto cut in, placing a tray on the lap and pushing a cup of tea on the hand of the girl. “She was fired…” he added.

“What?!... I don’t remember firing her!...”

“Of course… because it wasn’t you who fired her… it was the Head Mistress…”

“Head Mistress?...” Yuri blabbered disbelievingly. “Why would the Head---”

“They found out that the death of Tanaka-san was not a suicide but a homicide, and the one who killed him is Kaori…” Yuto justified using the information being concluded by the investigation. Well, it’s true since Kaori did everything for him to get the girl he’s preying on. “It was also her who crashed the cabinet and the chandelier…” he lied so that he can push all the fault to the accused maid with an aim to get the trust of the princess again. “If you want the complete detail… I’ll ask---”

“No thanks…” she sobbed and the butler removed the things which were laid on her hand and laps just to give her a chance to be in whatever position to cry. “Why did she lie to me?...” she whimpered, curling her legs up to her chest and palming her face to cover her tears. Her melancholy was interrupted when a soft touch pecked her forehead in surprise. “Why did you do that?!...” she was shocked.

“Don’t think of it as an assault Lady Yuri… I kiss you just to let you know that there is someone here who can comfort you…” Yuto explained sympathetically as he took a place on the mattress beside the princess. “Cry here…” he proposed, patting his shoulder gradually as he draws it closer on the face of the girl. “You’ll feel better afterwards…” he assured.

Looking at the guy who is now offering a shoulder, Yuri had remembered the words of Yuya which was to reject the hope she has to love either this guy or Yamada. It was a sort of puzzle since these three servants had appeared in her life one after the other with no connection at all but only slight similarities on behaviors and attitudes. So why of all people who are with her in the mansion or in the palace, Yuya had put a mark on these guys as his rivals. It is as if something is going on beyond her knowledge or rather something is going on with the three. “Can I ask you a question?...” she asked.

“Of course…”

“Can you promise me to answer it with all honestly?...” she asked again and the guy blinked at her rapidly.

“You sound as if I can’t be trusted…” he demurred.

“It’s not like that… it is just that I don’t get you and the other two…” she puckered her brows, giving an expression of bemusement while skimming any reactions like fears, lies or anxiousness just to know if the guy is guilty on something or not. “The first time you saw Takaki-san… you were sweating a lot and the time you brought me in this room… you locked the door saying that your act is for my own safety… even though the person who is just outside the room is my bodyguard…”

“Where is the question in your statement Lady Yuri…” he’s quite anxious already but conspicuousness is never there to expose him. He can fathom that the girl had noticed the peculiarity but he can’t allow her to get into the bottom line. (in his thoughts----“She’s intelligent and I praised her of having such wonderful observations yet… I’ll never allow you to get into a small hole Yuri… or even in a slit… you’ll just have the truth in the end once you’re mine already…”)

“Allow me to add one more thing before I ask my question…” Yuri conceded.

“Sure… go ahead…” Yuto agreed, inflicting his palms with his own nails as he redirects his anxieties to it.

“You’re quite hostile to Yamada too…”

“That is because---”

“That is not my question so don’t answer that…” Yuri cut in. “I’m just observing from afar but I can see, that you and Takaki are somehow close to each other once it comes to battering Yamada Ryosuke…” she added, trying to inject something that could stir an unconscious mannerism of anxiousness. “So answer me now… are you three strangers for real or are you just acting strangers in front of my eyes?...” she questioned, hoping that the guy could answer it right away but it was a hushed minute before a reaction happened. But that reaction was not an answer, it was an indecent act where she was pushed on the bed harshly. “Get off me!!!...” she protested but the guy pinned her wrists on the mattress so as her body by his weight. “Guard!!!... Guard!!!...” she yelled and the commotions outside her room ascended but the door is lock, it was thoroughly locked by her butler. “Don’t---” she was shut when the guy take her by tongue. She can’t understand why the guy is doing this to her but it is not the time to know the reason since her situation needs an immediate struggle. She tried enough to be freed but the guy is twice her size in any means, thus she kept herself moving even though the pressure on her top is too much for her feeble strength.

“Get off her bastard!!!...” a yell which was accompanied by a crashed rampaged. The bodyguard rushed to pull the assaulter off the bed while doing some beating at the same time. It was a scandalous uproar that the guards and maids are off the cuff to stop the brawl or just even to intervene.

On the other hand, Yuri was crying relentlessly on the arms of the maid who embraced her. She can’t believe that something discordant like that could happen to her. It was just a few seconds of unsuccessful assault but she can feel the dread of it. It was like eating her strength and staining her purity cruelly.

“STOP!!!!...” a begging shout along with rambling steps dashed inside the room. It was Yamada, throwing himself as the barricade in between the two in order to end the ruckus. But it was a long run of beating and kicking before he was found out by Yuto and Yuya. “Enough…” he panted and everything stops.

After a few moments of silence, a marching steps coming from the outside approaches and to their surprise the Head Empress, who seldom leaves the main palace, arrived among the crowd. “What was that all about?...” she asked and everybody, except the three who are still in the fighting mode, bended a head to respect her presence. “I’m asking…”

“It was him Your Highness…” Takaki spoke, pointing a finger to the assaulter. “And him…” he added, shifting his finger to Yamada at the moment.

“What?!...” Yamada reacted.

“There is no need to have the arguments here…” she meddled, turning her gaze from the three to the guy who is just a feet away beside her. “Detective-san… take the three of them for interrogation…” she ordered.

“Wait!... I’m not included here!... I was the one who save the princess!!!...” Yuya complained at the same time objected.

“We’ll listen to that once you are inside the interrogation room…” Yaotome, the hired detective, gave a signal to his comrades to restraint the three accordingly.

“No!... Wait!... Allow me to explain!... I’m not involve here!...” Yamada whined but his hands were cuffed against his will. “Please!...” he begged.

“I said LATER!...” Yaotome postulated and everything was carried out according to his orders.

-------------------------------------------

After a small talk and consoling moment with the Head Empress, Yuri decided to go outside her room to allay her fears and anxieties. It was the first day ever since the three came into her life vanishes for a while. And it feels good, peacefully good that she wants to have this kind of day forever. But she missed something, it’s not actually something but rather someone. “Yamada wasn’t supposed to be restraint since he was not at fault…” she murmured, heading her way to the artificial pond near the main garden of the mansion. She stopped her pace when she noticed Yabu, the chef, hiding behind a tree while sticking a head out of it from time to time. “I think I need a change of pace…” she patched up as she directs her way to the chef. “Yabu-san?...”

Yabu got startled on the presence of the person he least expects to caught him thus he panic right away. “I’m not!... I’m not stalking anyone!...” he bowed, pinching the hem of the apron while fidgeting and shivering on his stance. “Semasen!!!...” he ran off immediately without giving the girl any chance to have a proper talk with him.

“Eh?...” she was dumbfounded. “I was just about to have a chat and not to ask if he was stalking or tailing someone…” she muttered while heading back to her previous direction. She stopped for the second time when she saw someone leaning over the pond with a stalk of twig being used to scrape something beyond the surface of the water. “Excuse me…” she voiced out and that someone twist a head on the side to face her. She was mesmerized, stunningly captivated to the face of the girl who stood up in front of her gracefully but there was something wrong. The girl is too tall, too flat, and too straight that no curves or even lumps were noted. (in her thoughts----“She’s a boy…”)

“Lady Yuri?...” he asked as he roll his eyes to scrutinize the girl from head to toe and vice versa.

“Yes…” she managed to smile somehow. (in her thoughts----“I’ve never seen such a guy like him…”)

“You’re small…” he chuckled.

“Thanks…” she frowned. “For the insult!...” she turned her back then.

“Wait!...” he grabbed the girl on the wrist, impeding her pace as he shift his position to be in front again. “I did not mean to insult you… I was just amused…”

“It’s still the same…” she pouted.

“Then I’m sorry…” he bowed.

“Fine…” she sighed. “What were you doing at the pond?...” Yuri asked as soon as the guy straightened up.

“I drop something… and the fish took it over there…” he pointed out, directing his finger to the golden locket partially submerged on the muddy soil under the water.

“I see…” she nodded.

“I have to take it back…” he mumbled, leaning back over the pond as he resumed the scraping- maneuver-method he was doing before in order to recover his item. He flakes the locket repeatedly in an inward direction but the movement of the muddy water together with the nuisance of the fishes hinders his stratagem. “Just a little…” he groaned, extending a little bit to have a proper hook.

Yuri can’t bear to see the guy doing a failed strategy repeatedly thus she decides to intercede. “Let me do it…” she volunteered, removing her shoes and hurling her skirt an inch above her knees by the moment.

“Wait!...” he stopped the girl on making any step to immerse a foot on a dirty water. “What are you doing?...” he questioned, quite disappointment since the supposed action is such a gruesome act to be done by anyone else.

“Helping you…”

“How?...” he glowered.

“By walking on the pond---”

“And do you think I’ll allow that…” he flinched, showing the girl how much he was disgusted by the pendent action while heaving a finger to coil the hair swaying on his temple behind his earlobe. “OMG!... don’t you know how many bacteria lives on the pond?... or how many pee or crap were in there?... or even the number of fishes that could bite you?...” he spurred out. “Gosh!... think of your skin first or just even your toenails…” he rolled his eyes.

Yuri fluttered her eyelid several times just to snap herself from the quaintness she just saw. It seems like she’s talking to someone who is considered as you-know but still it’s not right to judge a person right away because an hearsay once says, don’t-judge-the-book-by-it’s-cover. “Can you repeat that again…”

“The what?...” he reacted, brushing his hair at the side of his ears by stroking a finger on it gently. A kind of mannerism he had once he’s irritated and a kind of action which is not supposed to be for men. He frowned a little when the girl made a step to scrutinize him like as if he’s a criminal whose face was drawn on a wanted page of the newspaper. “What are you looking at?...” he asked, nipping a teeth on his lower lip this time.

“Anooo…” she mumbled. “Per chance…” she smiled, giving a hint to raise a brow also. “Are you…” she grinned and the guy raised a finger just an inch away from her lips, telling her to shut up for a moment.

“I’m not!...” he denied like as if he just read her mind. “If you’re thinking that I am a…” he paused, sighing on his own misery that he can’t utter the word himself. “Forget it!...” he exclaimed as he resume his position on the pond but before he could draw the twig on the surface a small creature coming from it leaped on his chest.

*Croak*

“FRRROOOOGGGG!!!!... EW!!!… EW!!!…EW!!!!” he panicked, jumping and hopping in the process.

“Stop!... you’re killing it!...” Yuri protested as she tried to save the poor amphibian on the wrath of the guy but her foot slid on the greasy soil causing her to use the guy as her support and causing her also to push him entirely over the pond.

*Splaaaash*

“Gomen!...” she apologized right away.

“Gomen?!!!!...” he fidgeted. “Look what you have done?!...” he cried, showing the dirt on his shirt and sleeves. “Haven’t you thought of me as a person before you save that yucky frog?!...” he wriggled like a kid, kicking and splashing the water on the pond as he poured out all his frustrations and anger. “Oh my God!... I just had my body spa this morning and you ruin it just now!... and this clothes!.... do you know how much is this?!... I have to pay a fare of 20,000 dollar so that I can buy this in France!... and the price!... of course it is ten times the fare I spent!...” he whined.

“E-to…” she mumbled.

“E-to?... is that all you can say?... e-to?...”

“No…” she sighed. (in her thoughts----“He’s a gay after all…”)

“Oh my goodness!... Princess Yuri!...” a surprising call more like a shock expression approaches. Yuri looked back to see if who’s oncoming and found the Head Empress running toward her direction in company with someone whose face and name are often seen on television or tabloid.

“Obasama!...” she pulled up the guy to stand with her immediately.

“Oh my~” the reaction that was made by the Head Empress which was seconded also by the guy beside her. “What happened?...”

“I was---”

“She tripped over the pond… and I catch her…” he butted in, trying to act cool.

“That’s great son!...” the praised that was hailed by the guy who is just beside the Head Empress. “I’m proud of you…” he smiled. “What do you think about this your Highness…” he asked as soon as he shifts his gaze to the respectable woman beside him. “I guess we can resume the appointment you just cancelled since the princess had met my son already…” he suggested.

“I guess so… but I think this is kind of improper Prime Minister…” she appeased.

“I don’t think so…” he shook his head.

“Wait!...” Yuri interceded. “What is this all about?...”

“This is all about the two of you…” replied by the Prime Minister.

“W-W-What?...”

“My Princess… meet your fiancée, Inoo Kei…” announced by the Head Empress.

“And my son… meet you future wife, Princess Yuri…” acceded by the Prime Minister.

“FIANCEE?!!!!...” they reacted together. What the hell.

-------------------------------------------

It was a deafening silence that even breathings are indiscernible. The three of them had been locked in a room for fifteen minutes but neither of them made a sound. Yamada had been murmuring all his frustration inside his head while keeping an eye at the two who are still ready to have another set of brawl anytime. Yuya had been gnawing his inner cheeks while spying for any possible attack from either of the two. And Yuto had been enduring his physical pain while waiting for someone to start a provocation but another fifteen minutes had past and yet none of them had move an inch from where they are seated.

“That was a pretty long endurance…” a remarked that was praised by the guy who came in with a tray of drinks on hand. “A juice for you…” he offered, passing a glass of orange juice to Yamada. “A coffee for you…” he offered, passing a mug of cappuccino to Yuya. “A tea for you…” he offered, handing a teacup with a scent of Rose Mary and Jasmine to Yuto. “And a Hot Milk…” he tipped off, placing it on the area where an empty chair is situated before he sits across the three. “So before we begin let me introduce---”

“Cut it out!...” Yuya intervened but the interrogator ignored him.

“I’m Yaotome Hikaru… a detective who had found a very interesting case from the three of you…” he continued.

“I have nothing to do with this!...” Yamada attested.

“For now yes… but later you will…” he smirked. “Get him in here!!...” he called and one of the guards pushed a struggling boy inside the room.

“Ryu!...” Yamada reacted.

“Omae!...” Yuya grated.

“Why?...” Yuto sighed.

“Is that how you greet your little brother?...” Yaotome mocked the three before he shifted his gaze to the one who was pushed inside. “Sit down…” he ordered the boy to take the empty seat where he had place a mug of milk a while ago. “How does it feel to be reunited again?...” he joked but no one had lift a hand to counter him. “Are you all deaf?...”

“Don’t waste my time in your jokes Detective-san… I have my job…” Yuya speak out.

“Job?... is that the bodyguard thing?... or the flirting thing?...”

“Both…” he mocked back.

“Can we go straight to the point!...” Yamada butted in. “If you have something to ask on each of us… please do it properly…” he requested.

“There’s no more point to proceed on the proper interrogation since we are all busted…” Yuto chuckled.

“If the three of you haven’t gone this far… I believe we are still a family…” Ryutaro stressed out, fidgeting on his seat while staring at the mug of milk. He doesn’t want to give a look or even a gaze to any of his brother as he fear to see the loathsome on their eyes. “If we are---”

“URUSAI!...” Yuto barked back. “This is your fault in the first place!... if you haven’t----”

“Stop that Yuto!...” Yamada intervened as he hates to see Ryutaro suffering from the madness of the older ones and he hates to hear arguments that are full of accusation and provocation. “Ryu-chan has his reasons why----”

“Shut up!...” Yuya barge in. “Ever since, you keep on consenting that little ferret that’s why he grew up to be so annoying…” he complained.

“I’m not consenting him----”

“Oh REALLY?!...”

“Enough!!!...” Yuto shrieked.

“Are you finish?...” Yaotome charged in just to gain everyone’s attention and to draw the conversation back to him. He’s waiting for any answers but the four went mute, pretending like deaf again. “Silence means yes… so let’s proceed…” he assumed, pulling four mailed envelopes from his trousers’ pocket. He dispenses each of it on the persons before him and placed four keys at the middle of the table. “Open your letters…” he ordered but none of them abided. “It’s ok if you still consider me as nonexistent here but please, read your letters!...” he requested, toning with plead this time and within second the four start stripping their envelopes.

Shock or more like an expression that could not be drawn in a canvas was flashed on each of their faces when the senders’ name appeared before their sights. The letter comes from the person who had them connected since the day they were born until the day they were stripped off from being named. By reading the note, they are now aware on the true nature of the game which was started by a simple dry run of trivial tests only. Talking about tests, those are the trickeries, lies, disguises and ploys they had performed until now. So it means they are now ready to move onto the next level and to gamble onto the next risk of their lives.

The note says: If you want to remove your illegitimacy and if you want to have the greenbacks, you have to find ways to destroy or to kill the people who had ruined my reputation. Making the princess as your lawful wife is still on the agreement, so use all your resources and all your ideas to take everything.

Prove to me that you are worth to become my son again!
And prove to me that Saitama is not just a name!

Saitama Haruhi
“What the fuck!...” Yuya reacted as he crumpled the note until he ripped it into pieces.

“This is bullshit!...” Yuto reacted as he dumped the note on the table.

“He’s going overboard already!...” Yamada exclaimed.

“No matter what he say!... I’m not in this game!...” Ryutaro asserted.

“I thought he just want us to get her affection!...” Yuto rationalized as he recalled the deal that was made before.

“And to have her as a wife…” Yuya added.

“And do you think he’ll be glad with that kind of strategy only?…” Yaotome questioned, interlocking his fingers above the table. He’s amused, too amused to see the four looking at him in bewilderment. It is as if he had done a very severe crime that needs a lethal injection right away. “I can guess what’s inside your head people…” he smirked.

“Fuck you!...” Yuya yelled, smashing a fist on the table to redirect the hate he had right now. “You’re acting cool like as if you’re the most decent Detective in this world…”

“But in reality you’re a dog!... a stray dog who was feed and dressed like human…” Yuto loathed.

“Insult me as much as you want… but I’m just doing my job…” he sneered, dragging a pistol toward the center of the table and placing it exactly beside the keys. “That’s the keys of the cars parked at the back of this mansion…” he informed as he laid himself in front of the four. “This is your chance guys… so grab it now before it’s too late…”

DAMN

---------------------------------------------

“I’m not wearing that?!...” Kei complained for the nth time, pushing the newly dry-washed clothes he had soiled this morning toward the edge of the bed, while cleaning the gleaming locket on his other hand. “Why does my butler is such a slowpoke?!... I need new clothes right now!!...” he whined since he is still in bathrobe. “I hate this!!!... why do I have to be with you in this room?!...” he cried.

“Because your father told so…” Yuri replied, enduring all the protest for the meantime as she waits for the butler of the guy to take her place. (in her thoughts----“Why do I have to baby-sit this guy?...”)

“Why do I have to marry you?!...” he cried again.

“Because my grandmother and your father had agreed on it…” Yuri replied with pissed off expression this time.

“Why do I have to suffer like this?!...” he over dramatized.

“Stop whining like as if you have the weight of the world behind your back…” Yuri retorted while holding her patience a little longer. (in her thoughts---“Why is he so OA?!!!...”)

“Why do I have to be a boy?!!...” he exaggerated the topic.

“I don’t know…” (in her thoughts----“Why don’t you ask your father?...”)

“I hate this!... I hate my life!...”

“Really?... then quit!...” she suggested and a hair brush came off flying over her head. “Ouch!...”

“Will you stop answering me!...”

“Fine!...” she turned her back but the guy patted her, asking for her to look back and she oblige of course. “What?!...”

“Can you tell them that you’re against this marriage…” he pleaded.

“Me?...” she points a finger toward herself and the guy nods at her. “Why me?...”

“Come on!... of course I can’t say it since I’m the guy here!... and besides my father will kill me if he knew that I’m against this…” he frowned and the girl stuck out a tongue in response. “Do you want me to cut that tongue of yours…” he threatened, waiting for any negative reaction but the girl gave him a laugh of hilarity instead. “Why are you laughing?!...”

“You’re amusing… you keep on ranting there like a bee but I haven’t heard any solutions from your problems… you doesn’t want to have this marriage but you can’t find a way to get out from this… you keep on saying EW to the stuffs that are soiled but you are still cleaning that locket which was exposed to dirt longer than the clothes you doesn’t want to wear… and you keep on acting like a man in front of your father even though you want to be a girl for real...” she chuckled.

“It’s not like that…” he mumbled. “I just want to have liberty where I can do whatever I want…” he sighed.

“Then have it!...”

“It’s not that simple!!!…” he shouted. “Look!… I don’t know if you’re insensitive or unsympathetic but in our world… liberty is the least thing to be expected…” he clarified.

“I know that, but you don’t have to be so upset… since---”

“I’m upset!... totally upset because…” he paused for a moment as he looked down at the locket on his hand. “All my life I want to see this someone… and I’ve been searching for this person but my father had forbidden me to meet anyone until today…” he pouted.

“Who is that someone?...” she probed, thinking that the topic is somewhat interesting.

“I don’t know… since I was so young then when we first meet…” he shrugged his shoulder.

“Then why are you looking for that someone if you have no single idea about that person?...” she was dismayed.

“Because of this…” he heaved the locket as an answer.

“OH~ So that was given to you?...”

“No… because I was the one who bought this but…” he paused, beaming a smile little by little when a memory of the past flashed back melodiously. “The one inside it is very important… it was the first thing I’ve ever received from someone who made an effort to give it with feelings… and I can’t just let the fish to have it in the pond…” he cracked a joke.

“That sounds like someone I knew…” she intoned. “Perhaps have you given that someone something in return too?...”

The guy tilted a head to brainstorm his memories and after a few seconds an AH! expression was delightedly conveyed. “Yes I remember!... It was a bracelet…”

“I guess I know that person…” she grinned.

“Really?...” he’s quite excited.

Yuri nodded and the guy giggled in excitement but before she could divulge, a loud shot was heard. It was so sudden that she panicked right away. She dug her face on the chest of the guy while clipping the collar of the robe into her ears to ease her fears. And in contrast, the squeaking Kei returned a hug while praying on all the God and Goddesses to be spared from any possible threat or death.

“Kami-sama what was that?...” Kei mumbled.

“A gunshot…” she whispered nervously.

“THE DETECTIVE WAS SHOT!!!... CALL AN AMBULANCE RIGHT NOW!!!...” yelled by someone from the outside who is heading a step toward the north. “HURRY UP!!!...”

“THE FELONIES HAD ESCAPED THE ROOM!!!... LOOK FOR THEM!!!...” shouted by someone who brought a scattered noise of steps that heads to the different direction.

“SECURE THE PRINCESS!!!...” the last shout that was heard before the door crashed down.
