Friendship is a wonderful thing. I couldn't have made it through this week without the people always around me. This week, when I was on the verge of giving up on life (I was very emo), I went to Nika P, who I now undeniably consider as my best friend here. I went to Marionne and ranted irrationally. I consider her one of my best friends here too.

Well, as much as I'd like to refer to the rest of my closest friends here (like Junie, Yancy, Bianca, Elisha, Mika, Diego, Jorenz, Rosie XD, Nika E, Mavee, Nica and others), I want to focus on writing about Marionne and Nika P. I have all the time to be grateful about the rest and write about the ver random, memorable experiences with them, but I rarely do I realize that I've gained friends worthy enough to consider them as awesome as my genuine friends in my previous school.

Ever since the first day of freshman year, I immediately closed my doors to the chance of gaining best friends like the ones from my prev. school. First of all, being the prejudicial person I am, they're younger than me by about 1-2 years. Second, I don't come from Laguna, I come from Metro Manila, so our experiences might not always be shared (but surprisingly, I had so much in common with them). Third, language differences contribute to a higher probability of misunderstanding. I got over the language problem by speaking more in Filipino, but still remembering the tone of voice I used to use for English years ago. The result: I was better understood, and I could even relate in Filipino more than I could before; in addition, I was able to share the great opportunity of speaking English fluently (:P) to these people.

It all turns out that Marionne and I have very little differences, and she defied most of my negative expectations in a friend here. Yonne comes from a rich family, and she acts fully aware (even more aware than me) of proper etiquette that is not commonly observed by the common people. I observed her to be like Nika E, who grew up in an English-friendly environment and knew how to express this and that. She's a very rational person, and a trustworthy one too. Sometimes I think I'm lower than her because of her very respectable demeanor. She gives good advice, and we both have fandoms. We could relate a lot, and to think I only knew her this year. Yonne is awesome.

Nika P is 2 years younger than me, and she made me realize that differences don't matter if both people are put in the same environment, thinking about the same thing. I'm embarrassed to say she's so much better than me in a lot. The speed of her comprehension is remarkable, and I feel ashamed sometimes because I'm so much older and I ask her to teach me some things I don't know about lessons. Doesn't matter though. I tell her this and she tells me that it's okay, and that she and the rest treasure me as a friend. It was an obvious reply, however, I just needed to hear it from her for assurance. It's like we're of the same level somehow.

I became close to Nika P and Elisha, etc because of being in the advance math section. We wait for 3 hours every TTh. We do a lot of nonsense awesome things, and I tell you, it isn't AdMath time if we haven't had a hard time breathing because of the laughter. Elisha kasi!!!!!!!!!!!! :))

I knew Nika P more because of the randomness. Nothing's changed in that context, only that we do more extreme random things. Ah, now I remember. I knew her more when I used the Indian accent (Abu Al Qasim Mohammad...ibd abd....). That's probably why she, Junie and I are close. Since then, I started sticking to her. We've been groupmates and all. So now, it's like I'm so much closer to her than anyone else in the huge close group we have in Katmon. She reminds me a lot of Nicole R. :P Drawings, intelligence, rationality, etc. Haha. I guess Nika doesn't know how much I treasure her presence as a friend. Ngayon ko lang napansin, hindi kami naghihiwalay for more than 10 minutes. Grabe. :P until even 4:30 in the morning! sleepless nights haaaa~

Close friends become your best friends when you've been subjected to a lot of circumstances, especially tough ones.
