[He's covering it up well, but if you're paying attention you may notice that Satoshi sounds a little worn.]

I've heard that some residents have been here for at least a year. Out of curiosity, does anyone know who has been here the longest?

Also, I am in need of a weapon for self-defense against the monsters. If anyone knows wh- where...

Hmm...alright then. Focus. Concentrate...

[And there's silence from her for a while.]

There's someone on the first floor. Could that be him..? But..the wavelength...there's...two..people?

[And soon, there are footsteps of her walking out of her apartment.]

[Once she's outside, Maka closed her eyes and followed her sense to the direction where Satoshi was loacted. Feeling that she was near, the Meister opened her eyes and almost immediately spotted Satoshi on the ground--which caused her to dash towards him--and kneel at his side.]

Satoshi? Satoshi!

[Maka sat on her knees on the ground and lifted his head, placing on her lap as she lightly tapped his cheek.]

Satoshi, wake up. Can you hear me?

[It took some time, but soon enough his eyes opened and he looked up at Maka in vague confusion, then surprise. He recognized her voice. He sat up and stopped there for a moment as he was hit with a headache. Ignoring it, he adjusted his glasses without turning to look at Maka.]

Thank you. I'll be fine now.

[She watched him for a moment before a frown appeared on her face.]

Passing out in the middle of the hallway. Yes, that shows that you're doing just fine.

[She got to her feet and then extended her hand to him.]

[He looked up at her, his face now blank of any emotion. He stood without taking her hand, though he wavered slightly once on his feet before gaining his balance. The headache was becoming quickly distracting. Troublesome.]

You can go now.

[She lowered her hand, her voice tone twisting into a serious one.]

I'm not leaving.

[He had already begun to turn away, and now looked at her over his shoulder.]

I don't want your help.

You may not want it, but you do need it. I've had more experince with this city than you. And it's impossible to try and survive in a place like this by yourself.

[He was silent for a moment, not really looking at her.]

How do you propose to help me, then?

I have some canned food stored that I can give you. But that can wait.

[She approached him.]

Right now, you need food in you. I was just about to make supper, so you should come inside and have some before you faint again.

[Commentlog]

...Fine. Only this once, because it's necessary. I'll repay you for the food once I can provide for myself.

[She gave him a smile.]

You don't have to repay me! We have to look out for each other.

[And so, she headed towards her apartment which wasn't too far from where they were. Entering, Maka stretched and placed her hands on her hips. She glanced over her shoulder at Satoshi, still smiling gently.]

It'll just be you and me here. The rest of my room mates are out. Which this is a good thing for you. You'll be able to get first servers before the hungry wilder beasts appear.

[Satoshi remained apathetic, following her without another word. Her demeanor bothered him slightly; her concern for him seemed genuine. In a setting like this it made sense for people to assist each other, but...]

I don't plan on staying long.
