Netto had long since gotten used to entering Enzan's house after knocking and waiting for only a minute. When he'd been using the VR equipment in the attic on a regular basis, he'd often come over when no one else was home. When no one immediately answered the door, Netto opened it quietly and poked his head inside. All was quiet. Good.
He walked into the house and closed the door behind him, then headed for the kitchen. He paused only once when he passed the living room and spotted Enzan sleeping on the couch. So Enzan was home. That was good, too. After all, how was he supposed to get Enzan to drink the common sense if he wasn't there?
He continued on to the kitchen, where he promptly opened the fridge to see what was there. Milk, tea, juice... The common sense is strawberry flavored. Better go with the juice. There wasn't much juice left in the pitcher, but that was probably just as well. Netto wanted the majority of the common sense to go to Enzan (although his family could probably use some as well). He pulled the bottle out of his pocket, uncorked it, and upended it into the pitcher. After that, he put the pitcher back into the fridge and the empty bottle into his pocket.
Now it was time to wake Enzan.
Netto returned to the living room and promptly set about shaking Enzan's shoulder a little. "Oi. Enzan! Wake up!"
"Well..." Oh great. He needed another excuse besides trying to get Enzan to drink some common sense. Then the perfect idea came to him and he let his voice taken on a wheedling tone. "I was wondering if I could use the VR machine." He actually wondered if Enzan would let him. It hadn't been that long since the Dark Aura incident. "I'm not allowed to go into the Internet alone."
Netto caught the pillow and stuck out his tongue at Enzan, making a show of annoyance and disappointment. "Spoilsport." He threw the pillow back, then flopped down onto the couch next to Enzan. "Hey, you got anything to drink? I'm thirsty."
Netto stood up, too, and followed after Enzan. "Milk, please." He tried to hide a slight frown. Now that it came down to it, he started to see a flaw in his plan. With four things for Enzan to pick from, who was to say Enzan would even go for the "juice?" What would he do if his friend picked something else?
Netto made a face as he accepted the milk. "Catching up on school work. I got really far behind while I was in quarantine. Other than that, I've just been hanging out with my family and friends." He sipped his milk and watched Enzan, waiting to see if the common sense would make itself obvious right off or if it was more subtle or if it did something else completely.
"What do you do all day then?" Netto quickly pressed. He'd caught the frown on Enzan's face and wanted to distract him from the drink. He didn't know what kind of juice had been in the pitcher originally, but it might not have been strawberry. "When you're not in school, I mean."
"Hang out in the Nexus. Work." He eyed Netto thoughtfully. Get help, had been the advice given to him in the Nexus. But he knew very well that he was just spinning his wheels with most of his activities, and Netto had just come out of a bad experience.Ir was better not to mention it, not right now. Not until he had something.
"Boring stuff. What did you think of the net battle?"
Somehow, Netto doubted that Enzan was telling the whole truth, but he wasn't going to press for more information right now. "I thought it was cool. You're a really good Net battler." Then he grinned, confidently, cockily, cheesily. "Not as good as me, though. If we hadn't had to stop when we ran out of battle chips, I would've beat you."
"I should have been better than that," he muttered, taking another sip. The impulse to say 'better than you' had been there, but for some reason, he felt like it was better to say something else.

I'll worry about it if it happens, he decided.

"So what have you been doing lately?"

"What about you?"

He hadn't actually accomplished much, after all.
