wondering
When I was a teenager I had these two friends, sisters. We hung out a lot in company with our other friends, we were pretty close---I even had my 17th birthday party at their house. We went to each others' graduation parties, had sleepovers, etc. A lot of memories there. Then when I was 19 they suddenly stopped acknowledging my existence; they ignored my phone calls and facebook messages and no one would answer the door when I went to their house. (I know they didn't just move or sth because they're still friends with another girl I know.) I have a suspicion it was because my family was having problems and they didn't want to be associated with us anymore because of that, but I can't say for certain; anyway, I never acted different towards them (and I wasn't the one making the trouble anyway), and there was no warning or explanation for this. It was 5 years ago, so I've pretty much put them in the back of my mind by now, but a couple nights ago I had a dream where I confronted them about their dropping me and it turned out to be a silly misunderstanding that they thought I had painted their dad's car without permission. Obviously that is NOT the reason, whatever the reason may have been, but in the dream I was all happy that it was cleared up and we could be friends again. I haven't been able to get it out of my mind, and I just keep wondering what was going through their heads when they decided to drop me like that.
