Went to see Fiddler on the Roof last night, and I can definitely say that OUR SCHOOL ROCKED MORE. Okay, yeah, there were somethings that were better -- they had an orchestra, for instance, but the clarinets were way out of tune, and it was painful. And they did a lot with like, group reactions and whatnot, and most of the vocalists were really good. It was just... iunno. I didn't really feel anything. The actors were acting with emotion, but you just couldn't FEEL it. It's weird. And complicated. But that's what it was.
There were actually a bunch of us there. I went with Blake, Molly and Amy, and when we got there, we met Mike, Tressa, Steve, Jordan (who made a much better Tevye, by the way) and Stef. They all left at intermission, because it was kind of slow and, y'know, we had prom today, and we left after the third scene in the second act. It seems really rude, but we had to get to Wal-Mart before it closed. (Yes, I know, some of the Wal-Marts around here AREN'T 24 hours... doesn't that blow your mind?) We barely made it, too, because the intercoms were screaming at us the whole time we were there. I did get my nailpolish, though, which I had forgotten to get on Thursday. Even though it was one of the biggest reasons I even WENT to Wal-mart on Thursday. Bah. Whatever.
The best part was the wedding scene, just because of the
wonderful memories from the year before (plus Jimmy's immortal line, "IT'S A FRICKIN' WEDDING!"). We knew it was coming as they were changing the scene and we were all freaking out and we turned to one another and mouth-screamed "IT'S A FRICKIN' WEDDING." I wish we could have said it aloud, but people probably would've been offended. XD It was great, though. Also, this Frumah Sarah was nowhere NEAR as awesome as Amy's. Honestly. This one sang. Amy SCREAMED. AMY GAVE KIDS NIGHTMARES. And they put the Frumah Sarah on top of this platform because they were trying to improve on our "Let's put her on Justin's shoulders!" idea. Wankers. We rocked so much more.
Just a few hours before prom now. Wooo. I am getting kind of excited, yeah. I mean, it's prom. If I don't get super-excited it's supposed to mean I'm not a girl or something. Not that it does or not, but STILL. I'm just really looking forward to being all pretty and dressing up and wearing my gigantic sunglasses and everything. Andrew and I are taking Tara's Mustang, and it's gonna be sah-weet. I'm still worried about being late to Girl!Jordan's, but I've gotten over it, mostly.
Anyway, I'm off to finish painting my toenails and whatnot. Tomorrow I have church (damn you, school, go right ahead and schedule prom the night before Palm Sunday, when there's ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE my mom will let me miss church... not that she would, anyway) and then we have EASTER at my grandma's and I want to cry because I'm going to be so tired. I mean, c'mon, we're going to Kyle's tonight. C'MON. I WANT TO STAY OUT LATE.
Which I will anyway. I'll just suffer for it all tomorrow.
