Our Christmas vacation did not end up bad at all. Despite Nathan being an asshole most of the time, nothing new though, I had lots of fun. We stayed at my grandparent’s house in Vero Beach, Florida, that is only a minute walk from the beach.
We had a full house for Christmas, with Aunt Nancy, Uncle Bill, Aunt Cindy, my family, Grandpa Don, Grandma Judy, Great Grandma Millie (who Grandpa had top drive up from Miami), and my grandparent’s friend Mark (who they know through AA) Yeah, considering family history, it’s best I never touch a bottle.
I saw King Kong on Monday at which I bawled my eyes out over despite knowing what was going to happen the whole time. It was pretty good considering what it was, but I was deeply disturbed by the pink leechlike things that engulfed people’s heads. I bought some new clothes, and managed to find a cute dress for formal. I also got to see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe that I thought was wonderful. After the movie Uncle Bill quizzed me on the mythological symbols in the movie, so I pointed out Peter’s being able to ride a unicorn.
Yesterday, we went to Mel Fisher’s Treasure Museum where the aforementioned Mark served as tour guide. It’s not everyday that you have the luck to have one of the divers who helped recover the museum’s contents from the shipwreck. The divers were allowed to keep the first coin they found, and Mark asked the gift shop clerk how much his was worth. I think he felt kinda shaken to know the he’d been carrying about 2,600 dollars in his pocket so long.
We are in Tifton, GA right now at the Quality Inn. I am so thankful my dad got two rooms, so I actually get a real bed for once. The wondrous Animal Planet awaits my viewing, somewhat of a compromise since the cable doesn’t have Comedy Central or VH1.
Hope you all have a happy new year!!
