I know I have a tendency to fill this journal with meaningless crap because I basically use it as a place to spew out my everchanging thoughts. But, occasionally, I do want to post something serious like this.

Today, December 1st. is World AIDS day. None of us can deny that HIV and AIDS have a big impact on life, on the world. Even if you're lucky enough that your life is never touched by it, it casts a shadow over all of us.

There is so much we have to do. In developing countries, HIV is reaching epidemic proportions and hardly anything is being done about it. There are adults in the Western world who still think HIV is a 'gay' disease or something that's only passed between drug users. There are women who think they can't catch HIV.

And it gets worse than that. There are people who think you can catch HIV from a HIV+ person just by being near them. This discrimination has to stop. Think about how difficult living with a disease like HIV or AIDS would be without people shunning you.

Go here. There are so many things you can do that make a difference, even if they just take a few minutes or hours out of your day.
