So, vacation's over and I'm back to work. Funny how that less-than-two-weeks of freedom cheered me up, I guess I was more stressed than I thought, huh? It was great to see friends & family over the holidays and best of all, of course, was the week we spent in Amsterdam.
It's only been a year since my first trip there, but I'd already forgotten how incredible the city is. The atmosphere there is just awesome, there's no place like it. The perfect vacation in the pirate city, I doubt I could ever get tired of that place. ♥ We didn't do much anything special, since we already visited the sights we wanted to see last time Boyfriend and I went there, so we pretty much just strolled up and down the streets and enjoyed the scenery (trust me, that's a legit way to spend your time in the city in question).
Oh, and it was nice to meet up with indigobeads and kiiltomatolyhty while we were there! We had dinner at an amazing teppanyaki restaurant, delicious stuff~ I think that's the first time since the trip to Japan that I've gotten to eat exactly as much sushi as I wanted, and damn it was nice. Hopefully we'll see you guys again when you come back to Finland!
I'm still a bit surprised at how intense my obsession with Teen Wolf continues to be. I usually burn out these fixations in a couple of months, but that just doesn't seem to be the case with this fandom. Maybe it's the writing that's keeping my love for it alive? It's a circle that keeps feeding itself, as the more I write, the more ideas I get for other fics and... yeah, seems like I haven't done much else than write since... October?
I caved in and wrote a bit of Derek/Stiles, and it's funny how differently I write Derek when I'm pairing him with Stiles. I guess it's just that the everyone-loves-Stiles rule applies to Derek as well, but his Alpha side is reserved for Jackson. Well, that little straying into the world of Derek/Stiles just made it clearer to me how much I love Derek/Jackson. Writing a D/J fic after that felt like coming home and that is just the sweetest feeling. Gah, these characters, and this show~♥
Uh, despite that, I guess I'll be venturing into the unknown territory of Jackson/Stiles next. Don't ask why, my mind is a dark place sometimes. Definitely going to be a hard thing to write, but hopefully I'll be able to keep at least a shred of my sanity when its done.
