"Time flies..."
And so I've decided. I'm going for it.
Here are the two songs I'm doing:
1) "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" from The Sound of Music (just Rolf's part)
2) "One Song Glory" from Rent (Thanks, Vir exist_in_6th!)
I pretty much have the first song ironed out. I just need to work on sustaining the notes and breathing properly. I may be criticized for singing an easy song, though. That's why I have my more ambitious second song. I still need to get the song's highest note right, however. I guess practice will be the key.
Vir also suggested "Giants in the Sky" from Into the Woods. It looks like a piece I can do, but there are a lot of fast verses. I'd rather not risk stumbling on the lyrics during audition time.
Now my problem is nerves. Even just thinking about the darned thing makes my stomach do somersaults. What more when I'm actually there?
