Astrid Mancusi had been looking for Isaac Williamsworth for a long time. Well, not really a long time, but she hadn't seen him since Christmas... since her 'disappearance,' anyway. And now it was September again, and it had almost been a year. Astrid had been wanting to see Isaac for almost a year now. It had been too long. She was grown up now, almost hardly recognizable anymore. Isaac would recognize her, wouldn't he? He had to.
Her search for Isaac had led her here, Scrivencraft's Quill Shop. She stood at the door like a teenager waiting for her prom date. Where was brave Astrid? Somewhere left behind in the USA, she suspected. Or at Beauxbatons. Wringing her hands, she stood debating what to do.
A voice behind Astrid surprised her, "Aye, miss, y'gunna stand 'here al' day?" Yet, it was no one she knew.
"Oh, pardon," was a quick, soft reply. Well, here it went. Opening the door, Astrid let the smell of ink and parchment caress her senses. Once she was inside, there was no use turning back. She strolled around the shop, carefully planning her words in her head.
It wasn't like Astrid had voluntarily decided to leave, no. It was her parents! A drastic move, all the way to France, and then just to keep Alexis and Astrid out of London, their parents took them to America, and they visited different places there. If she had her way, Astrid would have stayed at Hogwarts, stayed with her friends, anything. But now, it was cold and lonely in London all by herself, neither hide or hair of her friends to be found.
Except Isaac. She grabbed a few quills on her way to the front, and stood in front of a man who took a striking resemblance to one she once knew. "Excuse me, is there someone by the name of Isaac that works here?"
