Maxie stepped out of the fireplace and brushed away the soot on her clothes and Nimbus 2000. She took a quick glance around the room and noticed she was alone. But it didn't seem for long because at that moment Esme came bounding down the stairs. Max quickly whispered "terego" and the soot disappeared from both her clothes and the floor. She smiled to herself. It had been a week and a half since she had turned seventeen and become legally allowed to perform magic out of school, but she still wasn't tired of it.

"Esme! Hi," she grinned.

Kristen coughed as she tried to clean her lungs of all of the soot and smoke that had entered her mouth when she screamed after almost losing her broom on the way through the Floo. She then took a step out of the fireplace next to a girl. After she stopped coughing, she recognized this girl has her fellow Puff, Maxie. She then looked over to Esme, another one of her friends.

"Maxieeeeeee," she squealed. "Esmeeeeeee." She looked down at the mess she had made when she entered and pulled out her wand. She thought for a second, as Charms wasn't her best subject. Finally she remembered and she quickly mumbled the charm to clean it all up.

Bugger, he just knew he was going to be late. It was only a game of Quidditch with some friends. Why did he make himself believe that he had to get all dolled up for that? It was his parents' subliminal messages probably that they were prone to doing when he was little.

Alastar clung to his Cleansweep 11 when he came through the fireplace hole. He caughed once then stepped out, "Hello everyone. Sorry for the delay." Even though he was still dressed casually his clothes seemed a little to nice for an occasion like this. "I'm not late, am I?" He took out his wand to clean himself off then put it back in his pocket.

He took notice that he was the only male amongst three girls as he looked around. That started to make him blush slightly. All of them were older than he was as well. Was it getting warm in the room?

Jumping on her friends as they arrived out of the Floo in turn, Esme hugged them all and generally made her excitement at their arrival very well known. When Alastar had been suitably greeted she started out towards their garden, thinking only of the imminent flying that they would be able to do. "Come on, come on!" she cried, eager to get up in the air. Playing with her brothers was just not the same and she wanted some real competition!

Suddenly realising that she hadn't even asked any of them if they wanted a drink or anything, she stopped abruptly mid-stride and spun around. "Oh, I forgot to ask! Does anyone want anything to eat, drink? Mum said there's loads of food if we want lunch later but if you want something now that's fine too! Anyone?" she glanced around at her friends. Never let it be said that she didn't know how to entertain!

Maxie greeted Kristen and Alastar, fellow Puffs, with a big grin but before they had a chance to exchange pleasantries, Esme was off. Max glanced around at the others with wide eyes. "Are we on a time limit," she whispered to them as she hurried off to keep up with Esme.

She wasn't watching where she was going which is why she almost ran up the back of Esme when the girl suddenly stopped. She used her broom to avoid toppling over but she blushed anyway, as if she had landed in a really awkward position.

"Nothing for me, thanks," she squeaked.

Kristen gave Alastar an enthusiastic wave as he entered through the fireplace, and then returned Esme's hug. She couldn't help but giggle as Esme hurried them along. She didn't blame her though, as Kristen was also very excited to play Quidditch with the group.

She followed Maxie and Esme towards the door but came to halt as Maxie almost fell in front of her. "You okay?" she asked, worried that she might be hurt. (Had Kristen been a bit more selfish and more of a quick-thinker, she would have noticed this would have made uneven teams if the four were to play in teams, but no, Kristen really did care if the girl was okay. Really.)

"Nothing for me either, thanks," she added.
