Liesel still wasn't quite sure how she convinced her worrying mother to left her alone to get a butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks while she shopped at Flourish and Blotts. But she had. Liesel was flipping through Witch Weekly. She had always enjoyed the publication, mostly due to her fondness of popular Wizarding music, but in recent months she had become reading almost religiously. It was lighthearted, it was fun and perhaps most importantly, there were very few, if any, mentions of death and of war. Though she once fancied herself as the sort of person who made an effort to learn everything she could, Liesel had begun focusing only on mathematics and pop culture. Of course she studied, but she shied away from history and politics. It made her think about what was going on, what she wished weren't going on. It also made her focus on what she perceived as her own uselessness.

After finishing an article on makeup and taking a sip of her butterbeer, Liesel surveyed the area. She couldn't help but wonder if the other customers felt as she did - afraid and unsure. They didn't seem to.

Liesel simply sighed and decided that she should appreciate her time alone. When she wasn't dancing, she was listening to her older sister, Allega, speak about the virtues of Oxford and what a pity it was that Liesel wouldn't be able to go. After considering this, Liesel closed the magazine and drank her butterbeer. She hoped that she looked approachable.
