Okay, so maybe it wasn't that empty. But it was extremely empty for 3 o'clock PM on a Saturday Hogsmeade Weekend, when it was supposed to be packed with a whole bunch of wizarding students that Don could talk to, while ignoring his job. He already had the butterbeer out and ready for them!
He yawned and waited at the greeting desk, looking out the window for someone he knew- and he knew quite a lot of the students. The Three Broomsticks was quite a popular place, after all, and Don was quite a popular guy.
