Week/Date/Time: 'Promises and Plans'/Sunday, 9 Oct, 2005/7:30ish p.m. Location: Der Slytherin Common Room Open to: Ophelia, other Slytherins Currently involving: Liesl, Ophelia
Oh! what a day. A Malfoy and pie for dinner and everything! Ophelia was feeling rather satisfied with herself as she jumped through the common room entrance. A Malfoy a Malfoy a Maaaalfoy. Where was someone to tell then. Ah!
"Oh Liiiesl!" pushing through a gathering of 1st years, she make her way over to the older girl. "Guten Abend and what all!" she grinned cheekily, aware her accent was past atrocious.
Sitting down opposite Liesl, she pulled her knees up and placed her chin on them. "Have you heard, Mal-" she paused a moment, thought about it, then decided to go the elusive route. "Welll, have you heeeard?"
Liesl glanced up over the edge of the newspaper currently masking the rest of her face. Scrutinizing green eyes peered at Ophelia. Greeting her in her native tongue, was she? Cheeky indeed. But there was something about the way Ophelia said it that Liesl couldn't help liking. The younger girl tried so hard sometimes.
"Grüße, Ophelia," she replied over the din of students meandering back in from supper. Moments of peace, how short they last. Alas. The tip of the paper flipped down with a flick of Liesl's wrist so she could properly regard the younger girl.
"I've heard so many things I'd have rather not today, it's not even funny. But... judging from that inane sparkle in your eye," she continued, smirking a little, "I'd say you're referring to, oh, what's his name? Lucius Malfoy."
She leaned forward significantly on that last bit, knowing full well that Ophelia would detect her sarcasm. As if anyone in the wizarding world didn't know that name by now. Effing politicians.
Ophelia gasped and swung her arm about wildly to put a hand to her mouth. "Why... yes! How did you know?" she beamed and sent her best disapproving look to the group of 1st years. Who just so happened to be discussing how tall Lucius Malfoy was. Really.
"Well in any case. You should have seen him." Ophelia nodded primly and took a moment to squint at the paper Liesl seemed very intent upon reading. "His hair was just as shiny as in the photos. Honest." Holding up a hand to establish some sort of truthfulness, she nodded again and swung her own mane of hair back.
Think of it, a Malfoy wandering around freely and Liesl was sitting here reading gibberish. She squinted at the paper again and decided to simply wrinkle her nose at it. In retaliation you know.
"I think I've seen enough of him in The Daily Prophet to get my fill," she responded dully, surreptitiously folding the paper in her lap and tucking it away. Those speculative eyes of Ophelia's had not gone unnoticed. The last thing Liesl wanted was a gossip like her getting hold of the article about her parents. Even if it was in German.
All in all, she supposed she was amused by the fangirlish nature Ophelia had donned for this occasion. The younger girl was given to animated antics and odd behaviour, but watching her simper over Lucius Malfoy as if he was some teen pop idol? Funny. Liesl allowed herself a mitigated smirk, alleviating the pinched frown.
"I suppose you spoke to him?" she inquired, conveying mild interest.
