Wesley had managed to get out of Study Hall an entire hour early, which was quite a feat for him. He didn't find any enjoyment out of sitting in the dreadful Great Hall, doing absolutely nothing while he waited for the Professors to let them out.

He'd headed outdoors, mostly because he had nothing better to do. Perhaps he could find some unsuspecting little first year to... talk... to outside. That could end up being a laugh riot, really.

Of course, when he saw Rylie Logan leaning against the wall, his lip curled slightly. Muggleborn and a Bird. Both annoying qualities to one Wesley Broderick. "Trying to get a tan? It won't help, you know," he said as he came up to her.

Rylie knew she probably should have taken Wes's remark as biting, but she couldn't help but laugh at his statement. Her? Tan? Those words never coincided. She may spend time outdoors, but it only added a freckle or two, never any colour.

She opened one eye to check she was right in identifying her unwelcome visitor, and upon seeing his face, she grinned. Well, he might decide to be rude, but he was interesting nonetheless.

She closed her journal, placed her quill on the ground beside it, and pulled her knees in close to her chest.

"Afternoon, Wesley. Looking for a kitten to kick?"

A kitten?

Wes couldn't help but let out a quiet snort as she questioned him. He'd never really liked her, but that was for more than one reason. Mostly, he'd just completely ignored her, but he needed something to do to pass the time.

So now he was stuck with her. For the moment, anyway.

"A kitten would be far too easy a target. No, I'm looking more for a Bird."

Ah, that was really not very clever at all, but it got the point across, anyway. He noted the journal at her side, but didn't comment on it for the time being. He'd get to that eventually, he was quite sure.

'Well that was... weak' Rylie thought and eyed him with curiosity. He must have been really bored to have come up with a line like that. It was too bad, as she was hoping he'd give her some material for a shady sort of character, a mysterious and witty type. She had very few evil characters formed for her numerous novel plots.

"Well, it would appear as though you've found one. How fortunate. I must warn you now, I don't give fashion tips and I don't have relationship advice," Rylie replied with a smile.

She considered standing up, but bit her lip instead. No need to make it seem as though she was ready to leave, when she had every intention of staying in her spot. Wes or no, the day would not be ruined for her yet.
