Week 040: False Imprisonment
Sunday, Oct. 1st, 2006 - Saturday, Oct. 7th, 2006
Oh, huh.
That was the general reaction of the ten-or-so-strong FUKD group come Monday morning. Well, it was actually a mix of 'Oh, huh' and '...what?! The bloody fuck?'
There had been an arrest. Early Monday morning one Esther Cartwright, 7th year Ravenclaw, was hauled out of the school by none other then the twisted, DE-driven Aurors themselves. She was the type of student that no one could really pin down when it came to alliances or good side versus bad. Her parents were Death Eaters, the cruel type that found themselves locked up in Azkaban after making some stupid, stupid mistakes. Her eldest brother did the same. Anyone would hear her name and instantly think that sure, she had to be evil as well.
Only problem was that she wasn't.
Being the sort without good, close friends and all really hurt her. Who was there to defend her or say she wasn't that type? Well, nobody really. Speculation was aplenty and, of course, the real FUKD members knew of her innocence, but without anyone too terribly close to her, there wasn't really anyone around to stand on rooftops and scream of her innocence! Seems that the Death Eaters really picked a good person to frame there. Mysteriously enough, her wand showed the work of many of the spells used to kill the children found dead in the Great Hall the week prior. A bloody dagger was found amongst her belongings (after a 'tip' had been handed in about it from a 'dorm mate') and hm, she apparently had no alibi.
"She didn't work alone, of course," Malfoy stated in a message delivered by him and directly to the students at breakfast that morning. "And we are dedicated to finding those persons that worked along with her." In other words, they're pretty dedicated to finding more perfect candidates to frame!
No one is safe. Accusations fly about like the autumn-turned leaves surrounding the grounds. If someone that isn't one of the school's clear-cut evils would do something like that to the students, which other semi-shady (or really, not shady at all) pupils could be guilty as well?
