Week Name/Date/Time: 'The Calm Before the Storm' / Wednesday, May 24th 2006 / 9:23 pm Location: Slytherin Common Room Open To: Lissianna Currently Involving: Etienne
Lissianna walked into the common room, fuming. How in the name of Salazar was one supposed to get their work done without access to the library?! It was mind boggling, it was absurd! She had owled Bastien begging him to send her some books so she could at least get her work done, so hopefully, her big brother would pull through and rescue her from this complete and utter madness.
She spotted her brother in the common room...playing chess....against himself? Oh dear Salazar. She really needed to help him, majorly.
Playing chess against oneself was the best way to form a solid foundation in which to beat your opponent. Otherwise they could have the advantage! This way he had a headstart on what moves they could possibly do and how he could prevent them.
To Etienne, this was his life. It wasn't anything bad at all. In fact it was incredibly normal to him. Nothing to worry about, but apparently Lissianna felt the need to.
"Why?" He asked without even turning, keeping his eyes on the board and frowning when he saw a move that could happen and would leave him vulnerable. That would not do.
Lissianna muttered a spell that lifted the chessboard off the table and levitated it back to his room, all piecee still in perfect place. "Play later." She scolded. Honestly, how could he want to play chess when she was around? She was a lot more fun then chess!
She hoped on the table and examined her nails, rolling her eyes at his question.
"Oh I dont know, because normal 17 year old boys think about girls and not about chess pieces. You can't hide behind your Queen forever you know."
Etienne made a noise of indignation as his chessboard went flying off to his room and frowned. He was relaxing, isn't that what normal people did while taking a break from studying and doing homework? Apparently not.
He raised an eyebrow at her answer and sat back in his chair, giving her a look. "Just because I enjoy chess does not mean I don't think about girls. I can do both any time I would like to."
Of course that was all said in a very manner of fact way, because it was the truth. He could multi-task. Besides, not every second of his day could be spent dreaming about girls like he imagined some of the students in his year did. That much made him want to roll his eyes in disgust.

"We really need to get you a girlfriend."
