She came out looking like something from, well, Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow or something. Tan khakis tucked into knee-high boots. Aviator's jacket with a tuft of some old scarf sticking out from around her neck. Hair pulled into plaits that hung on either side of her ears, all topped off with an Aviator's hat and goggles. With her broom balanced against her shoulder, she walked out with what she would perceive as power.

Really, she just loved costumes.

"Bleedin' perfect flyin' weather!" she cried out to, well, no one in particular, it just felt like the appropriate thing to say. Well, not so much appropriate as the sky above them had the look of splitting open with hellfire and fury, but anyway. It was just the right thing to say, especially when one was about to fly, and especially when it was most inappropriate ( ... )

Esme's eyes goggled as the strangely-clad girl saluted her and then strolled on past in the direction of the grounds. Granted, this was Fi and that fact allowed for a bit of madness, but still! The storm was getting worse with every glance she threw at it. Hurrying after her, Esme called out "Wait, are you really thinking of flying in this?"

She was feeling a little shamed. If Fi seemd to be perfectly happy to go out in the storm then it made Esme look a bit of a wimp for backing out and Esme certainly wasn't having that! It made her look scared of thunderstorms or something equally silly and it was only because she didn't want to get cold, and... oh blast, she was going to have to go out and fly around in the wind and rain for hours now, wasn't she? Bleedin' perfect flyin' weather her arse!

Tripping over her broom in the process, Esme caught up with the younger Gryffindor.

Ohhhh, was she grinning. This was just the most stellar thing ever. Her stroll was mighty and powerful as she continued towards the pitch, ignoring the voice crying out from behind her. Well, not ignoring, but pretending like she was. It took quite a bit of time before she finally stopped, swiveled about on her heels, and stood there, feet at shoulder's width apart.

"Flyin?" she replied, pausing to glance up at the sky for just a moment. "...are ye bleedin' outta yer mind, mate? It's lightnin', bleedin'... I'd bleedin' die up there!"

HAR.

She would have slapped her knee at that one, if not for the fact that the Red Baron never slapped his knee. At least not in public, that was.

She'd let that comment stew in Esme for a little while before recanting. "Aye, I'll be flyin' about in this weather! Not 'fraid o' a wee lil thunder n' whatnots!" she finally replied, grinning as she surveyed the weather above them once more. Oh, this was going to be bloody terrific. ERIK WOULD BE SO PROUD!!

Esme was a little miffed when Fi appeared to ignore her but shook it off when she eventually turned and answered her. Well, yes, frankly, Esme did kind of think that she was out of her mind, and was only just polite enough not to say so. I mean, hell, it was thundering and lightening like anything out there!

Wondering idly at hom Fi always appeared so unconcerned and cheerful, Esme pondered whether or not she should go and fly with her or not. It was a matter of pride vs cold and wet, and - as usual - pride won out. Hoping that Fi wouldn't have noticed that she had been dawdling around in the hall to avoid going outside, she shouldered her broom with apparent enthusiasm. "Why, I was just about to go and fly myself!" She said with as much honesty and cheer that she could muster. "Let's go together!"

Really, when did a little thunder and lightning hurt anyone....?

RHETORICAL QUESTION!

Sure, Fi was mad! It was one of her selling points, really. One of the reasons why people wanted her around. The bloody mad were the ones that provided all the entertainment, weren't they? Where would the world be without people like Riky Ash? Throw out the secret dream of being some sort of singer when she grew up, Fi would choose stuntwoman in a HEARTBEAT.. if she bloody knew what one was, that is.

"Good!" she cried out in return, absolutely grinning in her impish little way. Wasn't a comforting grin, no, but it was a grin nonetheless. A grin of 'Excellent, I'll have someone to die with!'. No, not comforting or reassuring at all. "I thought ye looked like th' tough sort, mate, glad t' see yer not about standin' around n' gatherin' yer nads." With that, she motioned towards the pitch. "Lets go, then?"

Esme grinned. She wasn't one to be scared off, and in fact the whole thing was starting to appeal to her daring side. I mean, you only live life once, right? Plus, she was fairly confident in her flying ability and there wasn't any huge danger, right? Fi's enthusiasm and madness were starting to rub off on her and when she indicated, Esme marched outside into the storm quite happily. If Fi had been conciliatory and sympathetic, Esme probably wouldn't have done this, but her utter lack of understanding somehow made the whole thing seem so much more possible. Why had she ever hesitated?

The thrill hit her at the same time as the rain did. She loved the power and the spendour of thunderstorms - the raging of the sky abover her. Laughing, she lifted her hands up into the air and spun in a circle, whooping loudly. Looking back at Fi, she grinned a grin full of adrenaline. "Come on then!" she yelled. "Let's do some flying!"

Ah, see? While some inspired honesty or confidence, caring or love, Fi inspired deathly acts and daft, empty reassurances.

It was something to be proud of, really.

Good thing was that if she was to go off and get herself killed, she'd not die alone! Oooh, and perhaps they'd have some sort of double funeral, so more people would show up and there'd be just tons of guests and-- Merlin, what a macabre thought! She had to shove that one aside immediately. Sometimes her imagination got away from her and really, too far this time. Oy.

BUT ANYWAY, she'd not die alone at the very least, that was the upside here! Fi grinned and danced about as well, spinning in circles and crying out in joy! Her hair was plastered against her forehead like some sort of red helmet and she let out a loud "WHOO-HOOO!" as she swung onto her broom. "Ye lead th' way, mate!"

If Esme knew what Fi was thinking about deathly acts and double funerals, she might not have been so keen. However, all she heard was Fi's enthusiastic cry and so she jumped straight onto her broom. She hadn't flown for a few days at as she sat on her broom she felt the familiar elation fill her. She loved flying, in a lovelovelovecan'tgetenoughofit way, and felt miserable if she was restrained from it for even a little bit. She needed this!

"Let's goooooo!!!" She cried as she shot off at a nearly vertical angle, heading straight up into the storm, letting the wind whip her hair back from her face. "First one to get struck by lightening wins a prize!!"

Really, didn't everyone have some sort of deathwish...?

Really?

NoLife simply wasn't worth living if one wasn't living it on the edge, so to say. It was Fi's mantra. Live dangerously or DON'T LIVE AT ALL. In it's own way, it was a beautiful way to see life. Or at least that's what she would say ( ... )
