((OOC: Yes, this is being posted with Dumbledore's journal because I wanted it up and I was tired of creating new journals. SO, yes. Also, the requirement is that anyone at this meeting be in NEWT level Transfiguration. No posting order, and McGonagall will be not be posting much. This is basically a starter thread - more for students to interact and have... something to discuss!))
McGonagall wasn't one-hundred percent pleased with this plan, but she'd discussed it with the Headmaster, and he seemed to think it was best. With the wizarding world in a state of war, any advantage the students could find to protect themselves was welcome. Though Minerva worried that some may actually succeed in their animagus training and use their new forms for evil, there was really no controlling the minds of others. She could only hope that this would benefit someone, even if it was only one, she had done her job properly and would be satisfied.
"I have not called you here to get your hopes up, and I think that should be made clear immediately. Not all of you will be successful. In fact, it's highly unlikely that more than three of you will actually manage to become an animagus. I do not say this to discourage you, simply to caution you," McGonagall announced to the group, motioning to a pile of books with her hand.
"There should be enough for each of you. Take a copy, find a partner, and begin on chapter one. It deals with discovering your inner animal. I'll be around to help you, should you need it."
