"Adriana!"
His footsteps hit the stone floor of the dungeons rather loudly as he moved briskly down the hallway. The news had been spread that she had been taken to the Hospital

Pity Adriana was not looking for one.
Clearly, the news of yesterdays attack were spreading a little too far, as she would hardly say she was saved in any way, or that Mr. Grace was her hero. It was a simple distraction, of sorts. She knew of said attacks beforehand, and took the opportunity for Dorian to have a reason to remove himself for a sticky situation in which he would've had to fight his own side. Adriana wasn't injured at all, though she was pleased to hear how realistic her portrayal was. Of course, even if she was hurt in some way, she wouldn't have stayed in the bloody hospital wing. Particularly not when it was filled with whiney, hexed mudbloods.
Adriana was indeed on her way to the common room, having just come from breakfast. The day was sure to be one of grief and worry over the victims of Hogsmeade, and she was intent of staying clear from the water works and pathetic speeches of hope.
"Jaser," she remarked at hearing her name, slowing down her steps and turning sideways to glance at the Slytherin. Adriana quirked an eyebrow as she took in the heavy breathing of Jaser, crossing her arms slowly. "Out for your morning jog, are we?"
Reply
Yes. No one would want to be out around that. It was pathetic. People died. It happened everyday. Sod off and move on.
Once she had stopped in her spot, his pace also retarded again to his smooth and graceful walk. "It was after you dearest," his smirk spread out onto his lips as he strutted closer to her position, "but of course not to worry, you know how I enjoy a good chase." He slipped his hand around her wrist then up her arm to her elbow and back down as then he now stood in front of her.
He gazed into her eyes with a confidence that she would tell exactly what he wanted to know, "I heard you were taken to the Hospital Wing last night. Nothing too bad I hope? You did go out to Hogsmeade, didn't you?" Also having recieved the news of the Death Eaters' coming, he remained at the castle and chose to do nothing. If he had helped the Dark Lord's followers, his reputation could be destroyed, and if he had fought against him, well then he would be a traitor. Jaser Cross was no traitor.

He was probably afraid to lose the best snog partner at Hogwarts. Really, she couldn't blame him for that.
"A precaution, I'm afraid," she responded, jaw clenching momentarily, annoyance spreading onto her face. "They sent just about everyone who was there at the time, though it was a waste of time as I am perfectly fine."
Tucking some hair behind her ear, Adriana looked up at him. "I'd suggest that you be careful, Jaser," Adriana added, cocking her head to the side as her voice went lower, smirk curving its way back onto her features. "You're almost giving off the impression that you were concerned for me."

He noticed the change of voice from a somewhat pleasant to a more frustrated tone. This engaged his curiousity. An eyebrow raised now, with his other hand sliding up on her side, "Did I hit a nerve so quickly?" It didn't seem like Adriana to speak in such a way. "What else is on your mind?"
The smirk transformed into more of a grin as he then stepped closer into her, almost up against her though still towering over her. "And if to say I were? What would you say then?"

Gaze traveled down at Jaser's hand, before going back up to him. Adriana looked off to the side, sighing slowly. "Not at all, I'm just so thankful I was able to escape unscathed from the horrid ordeal."
Err... right.
"Wouldn't want your reputation to be ruined, now would you?" she questioned, tone quickly going back to its sarcastic self. Adriana stayed right where she was as he moved closer, simply looking back at him expectantly.

Well it did seem a bit strange and a little over-protective. He didn't want a certain bloody, thick headed, wrinkle faced ponce endangering her for his benefit when she had no real reason to be. What did she see in him anyway? Shagging in some dark classroom at God only knows what hour of the night. He really couldn't imagine what she had with Dorian, nor did he really want to.
He retrieved his hand from her arm but kept the other at waist level on her side, "Well you look it. So joyful that you just barely made it out alive." On the inside, Jaser was rolling his eyes. He thought if she would just tell him it would make things go a lot quicker than remain at this slow, dull pace at which they were conversing at. Adriana always was one to draw something out.
"My reputation, Adriana, will not change. I'm a Cross. People will always feel the same way about my actions. I have nothing to hide, as neither should you." That wasn't true, of course. Everyone had something to hide. Whether it was simple and rather wasn't worth discussion, or dark and should never be brought into discussion. He also would not prefer to look as an enemy on which the side his parents were on either.

"Joyful? My apologies, was I supposed to weep and wail in the hospital wing over coming so close to death?" she inquired, cocking her head a bit to the side in a sarcastic pout. "Or, perhaps go bow at Mr. Grace's feet for saving me?" Adriana couldn't contain the grin that spread onto her face as she looked at Jaser, quite amused.
Really, the way Adriana saw it it - she offered that distraction for Dorian's benefit, he didn't purposely put her in any danger! Rather the opposite, as he was the one who told her about the attacks in advance, in the first place.
"I am hardly hiding anything, Jaser," she remarked with a slight scoff, rolling her eyes inwardly and moving by Jaser, continuing to walk down the corridor. "And I'm not exactly sure why you are insinuating that I am."

He just shook his head and looked down a bit as she had said that. She didn't have to cry and make a dramatic scene about almost dying. Death was another step, the end, and that was all. "From what I've heard, it wouldn't suprise me if you had been in that place before," he muttered under his breath before he caught her look as she began to walk off.
With his hand still against her side, Jaser gripped into her and her back into him, against him, dominantly and wrapped his other hand high up around her arm so she could not pull away without going through his interrogation first. He would have what he wanted. There was no other way but his when it came to that.
Jaser stood over Adriana and looked down on her because he had a height advantage on her by several inches. "I know you well enough to know when you are," now speaking with a commanding tone in his voice, "so let's have it then. Out with it!"

A smirk is what Jaser was rewarded with from his comment. "And who, exactly, told you that?" Adriana could have laughed, this entire situation was so comical. Why was he quite so worked up? Her going to Hogsmeade? It wasn't as though Jaser was not aware of her plans to eventually become a death eater after graduating Hogwarts. Adriana never took to being commanded very well.
Adriana had moved a few steps before Jaser's grip tightened, reluctantly making her stop. Her expression instantly turned a lot colder, head whipping back to send Jaser a icy sneer. She had no idea what his issue was, and was losing her already small amount of patience.
"Out with WHAT, Jaser?" she practically snapped in return, clearly annoyed, and not in the least bit intimidated by his attempt at being dominating. Please. "Inform me what the sodding hell your problem is, then kindly take your hand off of my arm."

Well, Jaser was one that preffered not being lied to, and at the moment, she was. Or keeping something from him at least. Whatever it was, he wanted to know now.
He backed her hard into the wall with a little force to get her to talk, and to show her that this was not a game. The old cliche "the easy way or the hard way" would suffice in summarizing this moment, for Jaser Cross. The Slytherin boy pressed against the girl then stared into her eyes with frustration, "What happened at the.." He froze at the sight of something new.
A mark, to be exact. Not like a certain mark that you would think to find on Adriana Winters by now, but teeth marks.
Jaser grabbed hold of her chin and turned it off to the side as he moved her shirt out of the way with his other hand. "What is this?" He already knew though, of course. That mark required no explanation really, just the story behind it would have been nice.

Adriana glared icier at Jaser as he pushed her harder against the wall, and her jaw clenched, wanting to give him a good smack right now. She quirked an eyebrow, then, as he stopped talking mid-sentence, staring down towards her neck. What the bloody hell was it now!?
A hand turned her head away and the other towards her collar, and Adriana knew what Jaser had obviously seen. "What the sodding hell do you think?" she hissed, bringing an arm up and shoving his hand away from her face, turning her head sharply in the opposite direction, batting his other hand away from her neck.
"Merlin, you act like you've never left a red mark on a girls neck before," Adriana's eyes rolled inwardly, fixing her collar back up properly and pushing Jaser further away from her. Okay, maybe this particular mark wasn't your standard hickey, but it wasn't that different of a situation when it happened.
Reply
It was a rather hard thing to determine. It didn't exactly look like a hickey but it wasn't that it wasn't either. It was a very close resembelance to one. She was right. He had given his fair share of them, but enough to know what one looked like.
Jaser smirked a bit actually, and noticed how rather defensive she was getting. She had never been so defensive about a hickey he had given her around their fellow Snakes in the common room, then again she didn't wear it like a badge either. "Well he's a genius that one. So wonderfully trying to keep your.. endeavors hidden."
Reply
She would say she had every right to get defensive! Jaser was not allowed to suddenly act like some bloody bodyguard over something clearly from a snog! They weren't dating or anything, for Merlin's sake, what was his issue!? Yes, it was worse than a usual hickey, but it wasn't like it was a permanent scar.
"He?" she remarked, eyebrow cocked high as she stared questioningly at Jaser. Adriana really had to resist the urge to punch him at his words; clearly he jumped to all of this having to do with Dorian. Jealousy, was it? Oi. "Care to elaborate on whatever the sodding hell you are on about?"
No, she wouldn't make it easy. It still wasn't his business, whether it was Mr. Grace or not.
"If it's simply more extravagant theories, I am no longer interested to waste more time with you, Jaser."
Reply
Jaser shook his head at her, as he took a breath before he spoke again. The smirk more sinister as he thought up the comment that would be now exiting his mouth, "Am I mistaken then? Perhaps the auror you have been cavorting with is indeed the woman I assumed him to be." She did just sort of walk into it with her question of "he?"
When Jaser Cross felt he was one way or another being threatened, then he would make it his business. That was were she was wrong. It indeed very bloody well was.
"No, not just a theory Adriana, but fact. It is a fact that been with Dorian Grace, and I know that is also a fact that he did give you that, because surely I didn't, and I know other than me that most of your snog mates are gone."
Reply
Jaser's comment was rewarded with an annoyed eye roll, turning her head to look off to the side down the corridor, clearly showing how unamused she was. She didn't have anything to say; it was hardly worth the effort of responding.
"And if it was?" she inquired in a nice condescending tone, adding a mumbled 'hmm?' as she looked at him. "It is none of your business who I snog, Jaser, nor has it ever been, so do yourself a large favour and back off."
"This jealous act is very unattractive," she drawled, nose scrunching up a bit as if she was disgusted with him. Which, at the moment, she was. Turning, then, she brushed passed Jaser, intent on moving away from him.

When Jaser would refer to Dorian as an old man or things that related to it, he did not mean that he was like a senior citizen or a grandfather, no. He meant in the way of somewhat as that of a pedofile except Adriana was almost of age and he assumed that Dorian did not have that psychotic of a trait in him, but then again it wouldn't suprise Jaser if he did. It would just be another secret that he was not hiding completely well.
She was also wrong about her social life that involved such action as she did with Dorian and himself. It was his business. At the moment though, he did not care to proclaim that to her because it would have made her far more angry than she had seemed to have been, since he had frustrated her to this point.
He released her from his grasp and looked at her with a stare of some accomplishment and confidence about what he had gotten from her, though she really had to reveal nothing. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a previous engagement I need to forfill. Until later then."
A sinister grin creeped over his lips as he turned and walked away. He was now in search of a certain auror who would finally recieve what he had coming to him.
