The door to the Hospital Wing creaked open slowly and a tentative, bushy-haired head poked through. The pale face was lit in the dim lighting like a ghost, and the brown eyes stood out darkly.
After a quick reconnaissance, Beatrice shuffled in, decked out in her bright yellow bumblebee-print robe and slippers, carrying a potted plant. She moved slowly down the ward, carefully peering at each bed until she found the one she wanted.
"Psst, Erin!" The girl hissed, getting as close as she could without being within reach of anyone startled into attacking her. (She heard stories about that sort of thing.) "Erin! are you awake?"
