Week Name/Date/Time: ‘Picking Up the Pieces’ / Sunday, 12 February 2006 / 8:00 PM.
Location: History of Magic classroom, first floor.
Open To: Professor Mac Thorne (did I spell that right?)
Currently Involving: Professor Ferguson

It was far too odd and unreal for Cadogan Ferguson to be sitting in a chair previously only occupied by Professor Binns. In fact, it seemed too bizarre for him to even be teaching at the school, to be back in a place he hadn't been at in over a decade. Nothing changed as well, which made it so odd. Sure, professors and students were constantly in flux. Especially now, with the war reaching a new intensity. However, the look of things hadn't changed. The desks were still the same; the board and the maps on the wall, the chair, everything.

He had been sitting at the teacher's desk for over an hour now, sifting through books, scribbling notes on parchment, only the slightest bit apprehensive at facing what was ahead of him. He was determined to actually make the subject interesting. Even as a student here, he found Professor Binns terribly dull and boring, despite History of Magic being his best and favourite class. He always got excellent marks in it, mainly because he read all the material in his books and such, sleeping and spending class time joking with his friends. Cadogan would have hated for him to go down in Hogwarts history as the teacher of the boring class, as Binns had been. After all, there was more to the subject than facts and lectures.

Sure, so at the time he didn't know just how to make it as interesting as he saw it, but he'd try.

If he ever got over these first-teaching-time jitters.
