Week Name/Date/Time: ‘Picking Up the Pieces’ / Monday, 13 February 2006 / 7:00pm Location: Ravenclaw... er, temp common room type... thing? Open To: Troooy! Currently Involving: Kiley and Troy
((aha, I do that sometimes when threading with Rylie, because their names are so similar. o.O))
That was the other thing that Kiley had going for her, really -- when everything else in her life was going so well, it was hard to be brought down by just one thing, no matter how big that one thing might be.
She wasn't even looking at the parchment much anymore when she heard someone speak to her, and was basically staring at nothing, her mind racing at ridiculous speeds as she went through many ideas in her mind, systematically discarding each of them as ridiculous or silly or not enoughSo she blinked as though coming out of a daze when Troy said something to her, but after a moment she looked over with a smile. "That seems like a silly thing to do," she said with a small laugh. "Then you'd just have to do the assignment all over again
( ... )
((But that's a VALID excuse. Mine's just braindeadedness. :P ))
Bloody convenient time for Troy to feel so down in the dumps, then. He'd have to distract himself from negativity. Well, Kiley was rather good at that. She always cheered him up, after all.
"Ah, that is, if you even do the assignment. Usually I save that trick for when my mind is absolutely shot, especially in Charms. Then it's a win-win situation, I reckon!"
Troy sighed and looked up to the ceiling again, pondering that very question. How had he been? He could lie and say he'd been brilliant, but he always got an odd feeling in his stomach when he lied.
"Ah, I've been. . .holding up. Bit like our poor Tower, really, but slightly more successful," he joked. "What've you been up to lately? And PLEASE don't say studying, Kiley, or else I'll be forced to try to once again get you in trouble for doing something reckless and fun."
Kiley just shook her head. She, of course, could not understand not doing assignments! Since she always did them basically right when she got them; it was much easier to keep on top of things that way, and left more time for actually studying as opposed to simply working on a given assignment, she'd found.
She frowned a bit, though, at his answer for how he'd been. "Well, I'm sorry you've not been better than that," she told him sincerely. He always seemed like such a happy sort of guy... it was somewhat depressing to see him down in any sense!
Her frown was quickly replaced by a laugh, though, at his question about what she'd been doing. "Not just studying," she assured him, which was true! Sure, she still spent quite a bit of time on her studies, but... well, she was what she was, and if that was why she didn't get out to much, then she could live with that. "I've managed to spend a bit more time with some of my friends lately, actually, which has been nice..."
