Week Name/Date/Time: 'Under Your Spell' / Saturday, September 24th, 2005 / Lunch
Location: Flat grassy area by the lake.
Open To: Lexi
Currently Involving: Julian, Lexi
He did not have a picnic basket. Nor a backpack. Everything he had decided to bring was bundled in his long arms. Occasionally things dropped, and thankfully there were students near by to pick them up and stack them on top. Finally, he managed to find the perfect area - flat and low-lying, there couldn't possibly be a nicer place for lunch.
Of course, Julian did not come unprepared. While the amount of things he brought had been daunting to carry, he knew he simply couldn't leave the common room without them. He spread a faded yellow blanket on the ground, only after removing any large rocks or sticks beneath it. It wouldn't do to be sitting, or have Lexi sitting on either. As for food, he had several, sealed plastic containers. One contained ham, another turkey, one had an ungodly amount of salami, and the last meat container held roast beef. The three other containers held several kinds of cheeses. Julian did not know their names, but he did enjoy the taste of all three - often together. Meat and cheese hardly made a sandwich; Julian had brought a loaf (pre-sliced) of rather crunchy-on-the-outside soft-on-the-side looking bread. It was not unfeasible that Julian had carried all of that from the common room, but he still had more. He had brought trays for both of them (it was just dangerous to have food on anything else) , plates, and goblets. His goblet was already filled with some sort of fruity concoction, which he had assured a boy in the common room it was completely harmless when Julian asked him to try it. Both the boy and Julian had agreed; it was far too good not to bring some along for the ride. The remaining juice was in a flask, just waiting to be drank. Other than that, he had water, fruit punch, and of course: butter beer.
Bringing his arm quite close to his face, Julian peered at his watch. It was a very good thing that he had gotten out there early. It was nearly lunch time and he had just finished everything. Looking from his watch to his arrangement, he realized he had forgotten the sweets he had promised. The time was ticking; he wouldn't have enough time to dash to his dorm and back before Lexi arrived. Since not being able to summon cupcakes, Julian had been practicing his "Accio" tirelessly. Now, it was time to be put into action. Hesitantly, he pulled his wand from his pocket, swished it this way and that, and finally muttered "Accio Sweets." He had gotten quite good at wordless magic, though charms escaped him, and he hoped it would work.
Only moment later, he watched as packages soared out of an already broken window, over the lake, and directly at him. He feared they would smash right into him. Futilely, he cast a freezing charm at the objects, which froze for only a moment, then toppled to the ground. / I meant to do that./ Thankfully, nothing that been harmed. He had pumpkin pasties, chocolate frogs, apple turnovers, Bertie Botts Beans, cake cookies, frosted sugar cookies, and of course pink frosted cupcakes. Once arranging those as well, he took a seat, and waited.
