Anthony was rarely restless, unlike the majority of the school. There were always things that could be studied, secrets that could be discovered, even if only by observation. He had learned early on that observation was a useful tool; he weilded it whenever possible ( ... )

Spinning around when she heard her name, Sam was a little startled, though a smile was plastered on her face (though, when was it not, really?). She hadn't really expected anyone to show up, least of all Anthony, but she rarely complained when it came to having people to talk with. She hadn't seen much of him since their last conversation, save for the duel, and even then...

She bit her bottom lip just a little, thinking of the duels. She'd done well of course (it was far too easy for her taste), but the entire ordeal had had a feeling of being... well, she didn't know how to describe it, but it wasn't the best and she couldn't pinpoint exactly why.

Still, the usual friendly smile was on her face as she spoke. "Nothing, really," she admitted a bit sheepishly. "Looking for something different to do. I've been bored silly all day and haven't really seen anyone out, or had much to do, unfortunately." She shrugged just a bit. "And how're you?"

She was bored. Of course. The expected, usual answer. Anthony could almost have had this conversation in his sleep, he felt.

"Well, maybe we can spend some time together now, then," he offered with a smile. "We talk so rarely, but -- if this is not too forward -- I find it interesting whenever we do!"

Outright lie, but he pulled it off well, as usual, giving her a slightly sheepish smile that clearly said 'I hope you feel the same and I didn't just make a fool out of myself.'

Oh, he wasn't trying to flirt with her, or anything silly like that. He was just trying to be friendly Anthony. Trustworthy. Not evil. Nothing to see here. Riiight.

"I'm good, myself," he answered her question after a moment. "I guess I haven't been up to too much of anything noteworthy, but Hogwarts is entertaining enough as it is, yeah?"

Her head tilted a little more and her grin widened. "Oh..." she said slowly, almost a little shy. Again, there was that tendency to not take any sort of compliment without getting slightly flustered by it. She was getting better, but still tended to let them get to her. "Sure! Not forward in the least bit an I'd actually like that..."

So, she wasn't lying (she tended to be horrible at that anyway). Not entirely. She did want someone to talk to and spend a bit of time with. It was better than being alone, of course, and not having anything to do. Her hands slipped into her pockets as she nodded. "I haven't either," she admitted. "But it certainly is. It's still just a little strange when you're walking down a hall and a suit of armour starts to talk to you." Raking a han d through her hair, she fell silent for just a moment before speaking again. "Though, it's not nearly as fun when you're in seventh year and get lost because the staircase you were on moved you to a wing you've never seen in your life."
