Erik had gone to Gryffindor Tower quickly to make himself more presentable. He didn't want Fi to feel she was the only one ready for the occassion with her costume. He changed into his muggle clothing and placed a hood overtop his head, sunglasses hiding his eyes.

"I know I must look funny to you, but I swear I put in some effort..." Erik said to the girl as he approached. She looked absolutely amazing in her Indiana Jones type hat.

Thank god they had decided to do this. He was in serious need of adventures this week. He just hoped his most recent mood swing (that had placed him in the happy range) would last. How could it not when he was with Fi?

He grinned and patted her arm.

"Ready?"

Fi grinned up at Erik as he joined her. Oh, she was practically bouncing on her heels in excitement!

"Ready?" she replied, bringing her arms up to the air as she let out a loud whoot. "Was born ready, mate!"

This was going to be a blast, she could already tell. With that look in her eyes turning devious, she moved her gaze to all that sat out on the grounds, or walked about, so on and so forth. Slytherins. Slytherins.. where the bleedin' hell were they? "We should find Emilia Hawthorn, y'know. Bet she's got 'em onions sproutin' from 'er toes!! Explains why Keary'd like 'er... he's got a fancy for onions on anything!"

Erik laughed at Fi's excitment. Well, he was laughing that is, until she mentioned Emilia.

"Um, Fi? I don't mean to burst your bubble or anything, but is it possible we could target someone else? I know you've got an interest in seeing why Keary likes her an' all, but Emilia and I sort of had an.... incident.... earlier this week," Erik informed her shifted his sunglasses.

He didn't want Fi to see the look on his face. Didn't want her to know that when it came to some things, he could be a coward.

"Or not. I mean, I AM a Gryffindor, right?"

She actually had to pause and think about that one. Erik? Emilia? Incident? Oh, she hadn't heard anything about that. With the 'incident' with her and Sebby (which she still loved to laugh about), and the mess with Keary and Juhi (which was definitely still a riot), she hadn't really had time to hear about any other incident.

Oh, now, wasn't this some interesting news?

"Gryffindor, right! Most devoted servant of Gregorious himself! But ah.. wassat got to do with Emilia?"

"Nothing, nothing," Erik said, dismissing his own thoughts with a wave of his hand. This was not the time to think of unfortunate things. This was a time for Slytherin vegetable toes.

"If only I had the good looks Nikolas has, yeah? I could stop them dead in their tracks just by smiling at them, turning on the charm," Erik joked and began to scan the grounds for any sign of arrogant swaggers.

Fi quirked a brow as she glanced at him. Strange boy, that Erik Cohen. But hey, if it wasn't a big deal, it wasn't a big deal. She'd have to investigate the presence of onions on Emilia's feet herself, then. She was dreadfully curious now.

"Ohhh," she replied, batting her hand as well. "Good looks? Y'got nothin' to worry about, lad! You'll grow int'a your.." She paused, glancing up at him again, then sort of motioned at his frame before batting her hand and awkwardly moving it to rest against her cheek. "..good looks, or what have ye."

Like she was some expert on growing into things? At the age of 12, Fi herself was awkward with.. skinny legs and slim arms dangling all over the place.

Erik raised his eyebrow in return and smiled at the young girl beside him. He was lucky to have a friend like her. She never seemed to pry, never thought of him as too strange, never got judgemental. He liked what he saw in Fi, and he hoped she never changed.

"I'm sure I will. Thank you for saying so," he said and brushed off his sleeve.

He moved his sunglasses to the end of his nose and gave her a goofy smile.

"See any Slytherins worhty of a foot examination, Fi darling?"

Fi's eyes narrowed as she looked around once more. Surely there had to be some good ones out there that they could inspect! Mebbe that Ophelia bint.. oy, where was she on a day when they needed her?

"...none so far," she replied quietly. She then spun around, opting to look behind them instead. Surely anywhere a muggle-born and pureblood went together, there was bound to be some elitist snob lurking in the shadows to harrass them. But alas, none.

((Oooh, we need to find someone to volunteer up their char. XD))

Most of her classes done for the day, Ophelia decided to bound through the grounds in search of something to do. Her use of her free time had always been somewhat different, some may say suspicious. She couldn't think why.

She came upon the two Gryffindors and stopped momentarily to sniff at them in exaggerated disgust. "You two look absolutely ridiculous."

((*Volunteers like nobodies business*. Ophelia comes when her name is called anyhow. ;)))

Erik's mouth formed an almost exaggerated smile as the third year Slytherin approached them. He hoped Fi was ready, as this was really her adventure, and he was only there to make sure it went smoothly. Not to mention, keep her company. She really was a top notch gal in his eyes.

"Lady Hawk this is Skip. I've spotted Mallard! Repeat, I've spotted MALLARD!" Erik said jokingly, revealing his nickname for Ophelia while purposely addressing her as if she weren't there.

He wanted to pull the shoes off her feet immediately, but his shoulders fell and he sighed. He turned to face Fi and whispered into her ear.

"Do mallards eat vegetables?"

Apparently Fi was in the mood for trouble. As Ophelia sniffed at them, she sniffed in return, then sharply leaned back as if she had just, well, smelled the worst thing ever. "Merlin!" she exclaimed as soon as Erik finished his radio broadcast of their new arrival. "It's overwelming. Overwelming! Bullocks! Carrots, I smell 'em. My my, love, I think you've got.. the disease!" And yes, she looked as sympathetic as it got.

As Erik leaned over, whispering in her ear, she turned to look at him. Her brow furrowed, and she looked thoroughly upset. Poor Ophelia. She obviously had the vegenerial disease.

"Think so," she whispered in return, "Though I don't know many Mallards." Sharp nod, and she confirmed it. It was time for inspection. Now the only question was this -- how does one remove shoes from a Slytherin?

Ophelia stepped back abruptly and took a moment to glare before letting out an enormous "HA!" It was incredible how they let clearly mad students frolock around unguarded.

She lifted her chin up and replied, "My, Lions, are we? Should have sacked the whole house ages ago, as you are both clearly UNSTABLE," she paused, wondering what mallards had to do with anything. Oh!

"AND YOU CAN'T SPELL!" she concluded, letting out a second "HA!" before turning away.

Erik beamed. Of course he was unstable! It was that unpredictable factor that everyone seemed to enjoy so much.

"You can insult me, but NEVER insult my grammar!" Erik shouted, pretending to be offended.

"PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!" he cast as he pulled his wand out of his pocket.

He seriously hoped Fi ran for the shoes.

Fi slowly tilted her head to the side as Ophelia went onnnnn and onnnnn, and really? The other girl talked too much. "Yer one to talk about unstable," she replied, nudging Erik as she spoke.

Erik casted his spell, and Fi cracked a grin. "Aye, hows that for not, ah.. spellin'?" Pun, oh the pun! It made her warm and tingly inside... a feeling that just grew and grew as she watched the spell take effect. Bloody brilliant, that Erik. "...we're so gonna get detention for this," she added with a delighted squeak.

Ophelia whipped out her wand and practically screamed PROTEGO! as Erik cast the spell. She jumped back nearly 3 feet and could feel her legs stiffening slightly. Well, not all the way, but she wasn't sure she could walk. Wouldn't let that on.

She decided to use mere words until a hex came to her, "OI! WHAT THE BLOODY HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? 5th year noble-Lion attacking a SMALL UNDEFENDED 3rd year? For SHAME Gryffy. FOR SHAAAME." She moved her arms slightly, and finding they worked alright, wagged her finger in front of Erik's face.

Stupid mudblood hexing her WHAT DID THEY THINK THEY WERE DOING? Ophelia went slightly bug-eyed as she readied a curse in case he was daft enough to try something again.

((I was totally going to let Ophelia be bound for who KNOWS how long, but she's got other threads to beee in. XD))

"Well, sorry, but I assumed you wouldn't take off your shoes if I asked nicely. We need to see if you have that disease that has been spreading through the Slytherins, naturally..." Erik explained.

He couldn't say he felt bad about casting a spell on someone younger than himself, but he wasn't going to start making it a habit either.

He grinned as Fi made her pun about spells and spelling and shook his head. It frightened him how much she reminded him of himself sometimes.

"It's all you, Fi."
