Smiling, Matt happily walked down the Quidditch pitch all bundled up in his house colors. His broom was in hand and he hoped that Ainsleigh was as ready as he was.
Finally finding her, Matt said, "You ready for a bit of good, clean flying today?" With that said he walked over to Ainsleigh and helped her up looking at her broom. He could tell that it was an old school broom from the closet (or it looked that way) but that shouldn't make a difference.
Mounting his broom, he patiently waited for Ainsleigh to mount hers and come join him.
Ainsleigh smiled as Matt approached her. At least one of them was enthusiastic about this.
"Well, I'm as ready as I can be," Ainsleigh replied, somewhat nervously. They'd tried this before, and it didn't turn out very well then. Every time she got on a broom, it ended in her falling off. Why should today be any different?
Watching Matt mount his broom, Ainsleigh took a deep breath. Looks like it's now or never then, she thought, slowly mounting her own broom.
Matt laughed at how scared Ainsleigh seemed about flying a broom. It was funny how one person could be completely scared out of their pants of flying and another loved flying and there wasn't anything else they'd rather be doing.
"Oh, don't be scared, it doesn't bite," Matt said as he tried to sort of soothe Ainsleigh and make her laugh a bit hoping to releave some of the tension. "Here why don't we just try and fly up to the goal post and back. You don't have to go fast or anything. I promise I won't go fast either," Matt said giving her a hearty smile that said 'Trust me, I won't leave you'.
If anything did end up happening...well Matt'd immediately rush Ainsleigh to the hospital wing as fast as his legs (or broom even) could take him. Matt cared about her, and he was promising himself to not let anything happen to Ainsleigh.
"Are you laughing at me?" Ainsleigh asked Matt in an accusatory tone, looking at her broom doubtfully. Could she do this?
Ainsleigh couldn't help it, she chuckled at Matt's comment. "I know it doesn't bite! But what if I fall? I don't think I could make it to the goalpost...not even if we're going slow." And what about height? she thought. I don't fancy going too high, because that means I have further to fall...
She trusted Matt's smile, but she didn't trust this broom. How can something so small, hold up something so much bigger? Not to mention fly it through the air.
((OOC: Just moved it over because you couldn't see the comments anymore...))
"Good thing you don't have a problem with my strangeness," he stated. "Because I rather like it," Matt said with a bit of pride in his voice as he started chuckling.
"I think you'd make a rather splendid doctor," Matt insisted. "Though you'd remind me of my mother if you did. So I reckon you don't take up that profession," he hinted.
Matt smiled in contempt with Ainsleigh's answer. "Oh good, I was worried about that for a minute there," he said sarcastically.
Well that was actually a hard question! But he supplied the answer, "If it was up to me, I'd say you should do something with animals - maybe a professor or raising them to sell? And if that doesn't work...well there's always the Ministry!" he said sarcastically. He knew that she liked animals, so that was why he replied that first.
Matt's response just made Ainsleigh laugh even more. "oh, you know you're not actually strange!"
"Well, I do like animals, so that's actually a possibility. I don't know about being a Professor though...I don't know if I have the patience," Ainsleigh mused. She had considered doing something with animals, but she hadn't actually thought about it too much. "I don't think I'll be working at the Ministry, thank you," she answered, making a face. She hoped he wasn't serious about it.

Ainsleigh also started chuckling too. "Well, luckily for you I rather like it too."
"Oh, well that wouldn't do," she laughed. "Well if don't be a doctor, what do you suggest I become?" she asked, interested as to what he'd say.
