Veronica Sullivan was not typically an easily-frightened woman.
She was a Gryffindor, after all! Strong, brave, courageous in the face of death, willing to walk through the fire, all that bollocks.
However, as the end of the first period came to a close, she received something so startling that it caused her to tear from her classroom with the students, running through the corridors in pursuit of her own personal Auror. Okay, so he wasn't hers to just order around willy-nilly, but he was her.. er, friend. Who would like to protect her in such scary times. So, to Sebastian it was.
Skidding around a corner, she clutched a piece of parchment in her hand as she sprinted down the length of the corridor. Where the bloody hell was he??
Things had been fine over the holidays; it had taken her a bit of time to get over that little bit of ... friendly mail she'd received, but once she did? It was smooth sailing! She got over the paranoia, and managed to have a lovely Christmas with Sebastian. Returning to school proved to be easier than she'd imagined, and she'd settled back in without a single worry. She would be fine! Genie wasn't stupid enough to come looking for her, right?! Right!
However, the owl that swooped into her classroom at nine-thirty changed her mind.
It clutched a letter that simply stated: I've arrived!
Perhaps in an hour or two she'd recall that it was the standard arrival notice that Magical Menagerie sent out to customers who ordered critters; she'd gotten plenty of them over the years, and she'd ordered a glorious firecrab six weeks ago for the sixth years to practice their jewel-transfigurations on. Apparently, it had arrived.
And apparently, Ronnie took 'I've arrived!' as 'Coming to kill you, Love Genie'.
Oops?
