(
Don't place your wand in the back pocket of your jeans... )
Elizabeth's eyes flickered up to fall upon a bloke who appeared to be older, possibly a seventh year, who approached in a very odd fashion. If Elizabeth could put a label to it, she'd probably say that it was much like striding, which was highly unsual considering the circumstances. She'd been alone at her silly wand booth all day and suddenly she has someone striding up to her? Well, well, he kind of resembled her older brother, but with lighter hair. He was an Irish lad, for certain. She could handle that, as long as he wasn't sloshed or summat. Seemed possible, as now his hands were on his hips and that did not want to compute.
"Hullo Sean, I'm Elizabeth Edwards. I work with Old...erm, Ollivander! In Diagon Alley, of course, and erm... well 's good to know that you already have the basics of your wand memorized, though I could tell just by looking at you that your wand... well it had to be over 8 inches," Elizabeth said, a little taken back by his greeting. Enlighten him about what, exactly? He'd never really mentioned what he was interested in... or... agh, her best bet was to ramble until she scared him away. Brilliant strategy, and rather sad as she'd just been thinking about her pathetic alone-ness.
"'S not because of your height, you know, but you wouldn't have guessed that. Not surprising, as you've not entered the wand business yet and I'm not sure you're all that interested. I could tell you, without looking anything up, that you're probably a Hufflepuff due to the properties of the wood that makes your wand, unless you've landed yourself in Gryffindor and then I'll have to take other aspects into account," she informed him, taking a deep breath and staring at him with wide eyes.
Yes... well, that was... a start.

"Ho ho ho, interestin', interestin'," he mused, pulling the ten inch wonder from his pocket as she spoke, looking it over. He'd not be deterred by a ramble or two or twenty, he liked 'em just fine. A girl who was pretty and could ramble! Perhaps wands were the business to be looking into, huh? Huh?
He looked up from his careful examination of his wand and chortled. Yes. Er, chortled. "Jes' so happens, actually, that I am a Hufflepuff an' was almost sorted int' Gryffindor, how d'ye like that? How do'ye know all this, then, tell me yer secrets, I'll tell ye mine, it'll be grand, we'll become ol' friends, like yeah?"
He also took a breath and he also stared at her with wide eyes, mirroring her expression either intentionally or unintentionally (er, because it was either/or, obviously).
Then he held out his wand and presented it to her like a gift. GRIIIN.

"It is rather interesting, in my opinion," she agreed with him, nodding her head and staring at his wand for a few moments. It was in better condition than most she'd seen around the castle, though he was probably not as obsessive as she was about wand care. Ah well. Who was these days?
Elizabeth grinned as Sean mentioned that he was a Hufflepuff, who'd almost been sorted into Gryffindor. Well, it would appear that she had caught on a bit to this wand business. Opening up her own shoppe didn't seem so far off now! She was definitely curious as to what secrets he could possibly have to tell her. It made sense for her to explain about wands, it being the entire purpose of her journey to Hogwarts, but what on earth would she need to know about him? Not that she didn't want to hear whatever he had to say, but he was probably 17 or 18 years old and she wasn't sure if they could have much of a friendship outside of writing owls and she was terrible at remembering to... BUGGER. She was thinking too hard.
"Erm... thank you, I'll be careful," Elizabeth said after blinking a few times, taking the wand from his hand.
"Yes, well, the reason I knew about the length is because there a very few wands made that are fewer than eight inches long. It would be extremely rare for you to have one that was, and it would probably help you excel in a limited field of magic," Elizabeth explained as she twirled his wand around in her hands. It wasn't all that similar to hers aside from the core. In fact, it was a bit heavier and a bit shorter.
"Guessing your house was luck, though you should think of your wand as an extension of your magical self. In this case, what led me to believe that you were in Hufflepuff was the wood used to make your wand, not so much the core. See, Hawthorne wood is connected to those of good heart, which is a trait of Hufflepuff. Erm...just and loyal and caring, you see," Elizabeth continued, waving his wand around a bit before handing it back to him.
"But you've got a rather rigid wand, which is easily tied to Gryffindor bravery and strength," she finished, drumming her fingers on the table. Ah, yes, she was ready for questions today!
