Adam Spencer did not usually do this.

Sure, he could be seen writing quite often, but usually he was surrounded by stacks of books and used parchment. Today, however, Adam Spencer was branching out.

Look! Right there! Branching out. Ususally he’d associate the word ‘branching’ with a tree. Because, you know, branches. And leaves. …and stuff.

Bot not today! Ooh, no, not today. Today, Adam was writing a story. That’s right, a story. Ficitional, made up, not factual at all.

Er, he was trying to write a story.

And failing miserably.

This was just one goal on his list of things to do to make him less stupid. He wasn’t stupid in the actual idiotic sonse of the word, he simply didn’t get people. Sure, he tried. Merlin, he was always looking at people, trying to understand why they did the things they did. Maybe it was his thirst for knowledge, maybe it was because he was nosey, but Adam wanted to sole the mystery that was his classmates.

So he sat down and got to work. Instead of taking up residence in his dorm or the library, Adam situated himself on a window seat in a crowded corridor. He could look at people when he needed inspiration, and books filled with tempting facts and statistics were safely on the other side of the castle.

The only problem was, Adam wasn’t creative. Numbers he could do! As he stared at the bustling crowd of people, legs crossed Indian-style, he absentmindedly scribbled on the piece of paper that was supposed to house his story.
