Adam was practically skipping through the halls. He'd just finished study hall, and he didn't have much homework left so now he was just looking for something to keep him occupied until dinnertime. Or someone. Whichever came along first.
As he rounded a corner, he neglected to slow to a walk. It's quiet. I don't need to walk. He'd become accustomed to the corridors being quite deserted during the day. It was rare to meet anyone other than fellow classmates due to the differing schedules. However, it seems that, unfortunately for Adam, today was one of those rare days he did meet someone. As he turned the corner, he ran straight into someone coming the other way. A bigger someone, that knocked Adam backwards.
"Ow," he moaned, standing up and dusting himself down, not daring to look up incase it was someone much bigger than him that could inflict pain on him.
Rae nearly lost her balance, but smoothly kept herself on her feet as some little thing ran into her. As if someone really had to need to go speeding around the corner, if you weren't in class by now then you might as well spare the class of your existance and not show up. Because everyone who was late to class was obviously not someone who was worthy of anyone's, and least of all Rae's, time
( ... )
On hearing his name, Adam's head snapped up. He recognised the girl standing in front of him. Nodding his head, he offered a smile. "Yes...Rae, is it? I'm sorry about that. You know, running into you. I didn't expect anyone to be around." Adam babbled quickly. He hadn't had any problems with Rae in the past, in fact, if he remembered rightly, they shared a lot of the same views, but he didn't want to give her an opportunity to be mean to him.
Adam shook his head. "No, no hurry. No reason either, really. I'm just...kind of happy. I just got out of stufy hall, and now I don't have anything to do until dinnertime. I didn't want to go outside, so I thought I'd go for a walk inside, well...I suppose it was more of a skip, really." He said, sheepishly, running a hand through his hair.
Rae nodded as he rambled on, mentally reminding herself to bring that up at some point to him. He couldn't go around rambling to just anyone, besides it would make him look uneducated and easily flustered. That could one day result in some unpleasant happenings around him and she would not wish that on someone like him.
"Yes, well I would have to agree. Study hall can be quite the bore sometimes," thankfully she usually had something productive to spend her time on but there was the occasion where she wished that it would end. "But would you mind if I joined you on your walk? I don't have anything either," she gave him a polite smile, for her genuine smiles were rarely seen.
Rae didn't even think of replying because it was silly in her mind. Of course they would get along; they were very alike and anyone who followed the Dark Lord was obviously respectable.
"As expected, it's fairly hard to gather interest in that area," she nodded knowing that she had trouble as well with it. If there was anything more tedious than that subject it hadn't presented itself quite yet. Especially with that...thing teaching them. Dispicable.
Adam took Rae's lack of response as a sign that that part of the conversation was over. He would just wait until she arranged for him to meet with Dorian. Whenever it may be.
Adam nodded. "I've noticed. Couldn't they at least try to make it a bit more interesting for us?" He felt that the subject might actually be interesting if they had a better Professor to teach it. He might be more inclined to work hard if that were the case.
Rae huffed while rolling her eyes, "Well anything would be more interesting if we had someone respectable teaching it. Really what was Dumbledore thinking? A Centaur teaching the brightest and best? Completely intolerable if you ask me."
Fortunately she had found a way around his distasteful ways and simply concentrating on the fact that she had barely a year left of him. Thank for miracles like that. She would never result to conversing with someone like that ever again.
"Well that's true." Adam nodded again. "Surely he wasn't the only choice they had for the job." He hadn't really had an opinion on centaurs before this class. He'd heard his father mention them briefly, but never enough for him to be able to form an opinion on them. However, he was quickly forming one during his lessons, and it wasn't particularly good.
